Yvonne Pierre, a survivor and catalyst for positive change, overcame childhood sexual abuse and the tragic loss of her father. A devoted wife and mother of two, her youngest son's Down syndrome diagnosis ignited her advocacy journey. Founder of "Have Ya Heard" in 2004, evolving into the "HYH Rise Awards" in 2011, Yvonne celebrates Ds community influencers. From hosting "The Yvonne Pierre Show" to writing books and producing plays, and an award-winning short film, she uses storytelling to highlight the positive aspects of parenting a child with special needs and to impact women. With an MBA, MA in Creative Writing, and pursuing a PhD in Human Services, Yvonne is passionate about using her voice to make a difference. Yvonne is also a diversity outreach committee member for two Down syndrome nonprofits. A wife, mother, writer, producer, advocate, podcaster, and survivor, she believes, "Life is so much bigger than the eyes can see and the heart can feel," using storytelling to inspire hope and a fresh perspective on life.
