My start in comedy actually came through music. From (phone number hidden)5 I was the front man for an all original band. We would book 3 and 4 hour gigs, but we had nowhere near 3-4 hours worth of music! To fill the time, I would do bits between songs. Some years later, it finally dawned on me... That was standup! And I'm not terrible at it. Now I go around and ask people to give me money to talk smack into a microphone.
