When playing a private function the most important thing I can do as a bandleader is to do what comes naturally for me: be keenly aware. This means that if we need to start a few minutes early, we do so. It means I check with the client to see if our volume is right. It means playing a longer set if it's going to help the flow of the event. And it means being in good communication before the event so everything goes smoothly.

Mr. Foley received his degree in jazz studies at the University of North Texas. He also studied in New York City with Kenny Werner and at Columbia University. A professional pianist, songwriter, arranger and composer for over thirty years, Mr. Foley has performed in Dallas and nationally with wide variety of ensembles. He has played the Denton Jazz Festival, The Sammons Center for the Arts, The Dallas Piano Jazz Society, Uncle Cavlin’s and many other venues. His talents have been seen in diverse settings from TV shows such as Nashville Now to arranging and performing with the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra. William Foley’s compositions defy easy classification. They are evocative and soul-stirring, with jazz and classical influences, each piece leads listeners on a journey deep within.
