About

Wenesso Christian Tengande, sees himself very fortunate to live in the United States and earn his success because he knows how easy it was for that never to happen. Growing up, he loved music but never thought he would play an instrument. Wenesso started learning guitar in Togo-West Africa at the age of 18 years old and quickly realized that his passion for Gospel music was a divine call. He saw it as a destiny and would put all it takes to achieve the assignment.

Wenesso attended the Assemblies of God church in Togo, and he would spend hours in the sanctuary learning and mastering the guitar chords. Though he loved the instrument, he never owned any during all his young adult time in Togo. But his passion for music and love for God propelled him to become soon good at guitar and start playing guitar at Sunday services within three months of learning. He could not read music but played by ears. He was so dedicated that he would be reached out to help play lead and rhythm guitar at Christian crusades and conventions. Wenesso became quickly comfortable with both acoustic and electric guitars.

Many singers, music bands, and songwriters such as Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Exo-Eclat, and Richard Toupin inspired Wenesso in his early stage of music life. Wenesso had a strong belief that music is God’s and originated from God; therefore, he started opening his mind to all kind of musics and genre to grasp various techniques for broadening and perfecting his skills. Bands like Eagles and Beatles, and singers such as Francis Cabrel, Jean Jacques Goldman, Garou, and many others also made a huge impact on his musical talent and singing ability. Today Wenesso can play Rock & Roll, Classic, Soukous, and Gospel music.

Wenesso migrated to the U.S at the age of 23 and worked his way to earn his education and profession. But he always knew there was a piece that was still missing, and it was music production and creativity. He quickly nourished the idea of becoming a Gospel singer, musician, and songwriter. For Him it was a way to give back to God as he valued his musical gift, talent, and skills tremendously. In brief, he decided to put his musical talent and gift to God’s Service. Wenesso led worship bands in several AG churches and led worship occasionally. He played in many concerts as well, and some of the remarkable ones were playing lead guitar at Jimi Hope and King Mensah concerts in Washington DC Metro area.

One day, Wenesso was looking to hire a songwriter when a friend told him, “most musicians who claim they can't write songs are in fact great songwriters.” Wenesso capitalized on this revelation and started drafting songs. He is a multilingual but felt comfortable writing French songs as that is his first language, being raised in a French speaking country. So, his first few records would be in French, followed by the ones in English later, as he became more and more comfortable in English. His songs composition were divinely inspired, sometimes from dreams, and sometimes from jamming on the guitar.

In 2011, Wenesso started taking his music project seriously and located a small studio “House of Jam” where he started recording. He would self finance these projects, and as of result he had to extend the timeline to be able to save some money for the recordings. He started having kids in 2012 and 2013, and this was coupled with his full-time professional life and academic studies. Therefore, he would take a pause from studio from time to time and would release his first single ten years later. From there, he will never stop releasing new songs. The skies is the limit.
