Overview

Washboard Leo is a Brazilian percussionist (washboard/cajon), who has been playing with traditional jazz, blues, Brazilian jazz and bossa-nova bands/artists in Brazil and US. Leo performed and recorded with the renowned Mississippi Devils in Ribeirao Preto (SP), Brazil. NYC-based.

Currently playing in two projects:

The Smoky Caipirinhas
A piano/percussion duo with pianist/singer Alex Frederick, in which they bring reinterpretations of bossa nova classics, as well as great versions of jazz standards in a vaudeville style.

Junker Jazz
A new band featuring experienced musicians who play great versions of jazz standards, with washboard arrangements.
