Overview

Hi Nick Marrs! I’m a voice actor, audio engineer, demo producer, and BBQ dad. My natural tone is free of any regionalism or accent. Before finding my love of all things audio I worked in many unique places that required an understanding of medical lingo, technology, communication, empathy, and sometimes even a bit of selling. It’s easy to be an authentic authority voice when you’ve lived the life. My bass voice is friendly, confident, and most of all real.

My home studio is top tier professional built to exceed ACX standards without post production. I've got an extensive microphone and gear locker. That means I can deliver the goods at an outstanding level of quality within 24 hours!

Talented, professional, & timely

Each time I've used Nick as voice talent he has been easy to work with and eager to meet the particular needs of the project. He will personalize the experience and makes sure you are happy with the result. Extremely quick turnaround to revisions. Talented and multifaceted voice ability. On top of that, he is completely friendly which counts for a lot. Will certainly work with Nick again.

Thanks Julia! Getting to be a part of your projects is always a great time! Especially when you ask for something I'd never even considered before. Many of your characters have become staples here in the Marrs house. ROCKS!!!!!

What to expect

Most voice over work is handled as self service. Meaning that you send the scripts to me and I return the finished product to you within the agreed upon time (typically 24-48 hours). If you need a live directed session we can make accommodations. My preference is to use cleansed or discord. However if you have access to zoom or another meeting technology I'm happy to work with you.

Recording is done in my purpose built home studio. My primary recording equipment items are as follows:

Microphones: CAD E100s, Synco D2, AKG P200, MXL 990, MXL 770, Custom built OPA Alice, AT2020, and the Monoprice LR100.
Interfaces: Audient ID22, Audient ID4, Presonus Audiobox 96
PreAmp: DBX 286s
DAW: Reaper

I also have some of the best plugins in the business from Izotope, Waves, Slate Digital, Dear Reality, etc.

About

Howdy, I’m Nick Marrs! I’m a voice actor, audio engineer, and BBQ dad based in Pittsburgh, PA. So if you’re wondering, yes I do understand the “yinzer” dialect, but I’ve been pretty much all over. One day I hope to make it to my ancestral homelands of Scotland and Ireland. Regardless, my natural tone is free of any regionalism or accent.

Speaking of ancient history, before finding my love of all things audio I spent many years as an optician. It’s a very interesting job that requires the understanding of medical lingo, technology, communication, empathy, and sometimes even a bit of selling. That’s just one of the many unique life experiences that help me relate to the wide world of voice over. It’s easy to be an authentic authority voice when you’ve lived the life. My bass voice is friendly, confident, and most of all real.

Thanks to my obsession with technology my home studio is top tier professional. My recording booth is custom built to exceed ACX standards without a lick of post production. I have an extensive microphone locker that includes the CAD E100s, AKG P200, Synco D2, and so so (probably too) many more. The gear doesn’t stop there but my main recording interface is the pristine Audient ID22 (don’t open that closet… you might die from an avalanche). As an audio engineer my DAW of choice is Reaper. Add it all together and that means I can deliver the goods at an outstanding level of quality within 24 hours!

When I’m not behind a microphone you can find me building microphones, constructing computers, or blacksmithing blades. I can also be found taking epic D&D quests with my amazing friends. Despite being one of the most eclectic, weird goof balls most of my friends know, they also describe me as kind and compassionate. I really do care about my work and the people I work with.

YOU have worked so hard on your project. You deserve nothing less than perfection. I’m here to bring that vision to life. Let’s craft something amazing together!

Additional booking notes

The only requirements from a client for recording are if a live session is needed. If you have a specific type of live call you would like you will need to provide access to it's use.
