I always interact with my audience, tell little stories between the songs, feel out the mood in the room.
I love when people start to dance or sing along (if appropriate for the occasion) and always encourage that.
People will get out best mood as we truly love entertaining.
We love to dress up and special or certain wardrobe/style is required - just tell us :)

Of course well bring our equipment and set up early, so that the audience will have a really nice show, when they arrive.
Punctuality & reliability is very important to me and my band members are chosen accordingly.

If there are special music requests ( a certain style, certain era, certain songs that are a "must have" ),
please, tell me/us beforehand, so that we have an idea of what to prepare/ how to approach the show.

Verena McBee

She’s been described as bold with a velvet voice, as sweet, tender as well as passionate, powerful and dramatic, when she sings, swings and entertains.

Born and raised in Northern Germany, Verena McBee embarked on the beginnings of her studies.
At age seven she began piano lessons for ten years in her hometown at the Conservatory of Osnabrueck,
later adding flute at the age of fourteen.
In 1993 she studied classical music (piano and flute) at the University Osnabrueck, graduating in 1997.
From (phone number hidden)6 Verena appeared as an actress and vocalist in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Cologne, Brussels, Prisdina and NYC.

Especially supported by her acting skills Verena will take you her her into her own world.
She has been praised standing out as a touching storyteller in song - unique and authentic.

Her first visit to NYC in 2004 was sparked by curiosity to see the world where so much music and so many movies come from. It was also a special treat to herself after a breakup.
While trying to get away from romantic love and to fill her cup with inspiration Verena met her future husband bassist Cecil McBee in a Manhattan jazz club.
A story of exuberance, joy, creativity, love, music and at the same time challenging tests and times followed. The result: Verena, a former freelance actress and singer in Europe got married, moved to the city and started studying jazz vocals.
A new love relationship had formed through her adoration for the Greats: Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day, Peggie Lee, Chet Baker, Theloneous Monk, Duke Ellington, - you name it.
As time passed, Verena added more and more theatrical sounding material to her set list along with songs from Germany,
that she translates and sings in her mother tongue, and vice versa - as a fun experience she sometimes sings American standards in German.
Her love for theater and acting shines through in her performance and makes her act different, unique and extra entertaining.

People love Verena’s shows, relate to her messages through music and leave energized and uplifted.
In her future projects she’ll highlight the material of her most recent album “Bird(S)wing” and the incredibly beautiful music of Kurt Weill.

Critiques have highlighted her wide range,
that she likes to use in improvisation to communicate beyond words and written song lines.
Her voice is lyric and expressive, sometime audacious and bold.
