About

VENUS, born Maya Parker, is a Bahamian Singer-Songwriter whose main goal is to allow listeners to find themselves in their music. Their occupational goal is to become a recording artist and tour around the world, but their main aspiration is to help others with the work they do. Music has gotten them through their life, happy and sad, and they want to be able to make others feel. They chose the name ‘VENUS’ as it represents love, which is their main philosophy.

VENUS is a child to two jazz musicians, so they grew up around music. They wrote their first song at the age of 6 and have been writing since. They sang in many musical productions in high school and ultimately auditioned for, and were accepted to, Berklee College of Music in 2022, and graduated in May 2026. They have also performed on a local television show Bahamas at Sunrise numerous times, and have performed at the Lilypad, the Loft at 939, and The Red Room as well as Wally's Jazz Cafe since being a student at Berklee.

As an artist, they plan to use their platform for the good of their environment, a pressing issue in their home country as well as around the world. Additionally, VENUS makes music for other queer and sapphic people, as well as being a Christian, making them unusual in the industry. Their philanthropy will draw in support, tastes aside, fans can support the causes VENUS invests in. VENUS is an artist who aims to connect with their listeners above all else. They are dedicated to producing 100% authentic music from pen to ear.
