Hi, I’m Marcel — a professional cellist and the founder of Velvet Music Events. Since 2014, I’ve had the honor of performing at over 1,000 weddings, galas, and luxury events across the U.S. and internationally, with features in Vogue Weddings and Carats & Cake.

I started this journey with one vision: to transform live music into an unforgettable experience. Music at an event should never feel like “background.” It should set the tone, carry the emotion, and create moments your guests remember long after the celebration ends.

As a solo cellist, I offer a uniquely versatile sound — from elegant classical melodies to modern covers that surprise and delight. For couples and planners looking for more, I also curate string duos, trios, quartets, and even high-energy collaborations with DJs and live musicians. Every performance is hand-selected and tailored to the occasion, ensuring it feels personal, stylish, and seamless.

We provide flexible setups to fit a wide variety of venues, from intimate ceremonies to large-scale galas.

Solo cello and small ensembles can perform acoustically in intimate spaces.

Space Requirements

String quartet: approx. 8’x10’ space with armless chairs provided by the venue.

Duos/trios: smaller footprint.

Larger ensembles or hybrid performances may require expanded staging.

Power Needs & Redundancy

Standard grounded outlets are sufficient for most amplified performances.

If outlets are unavailable, we can provide backup power solutions.

With over a decade of experience, we always plan for contingencies to ensure seamless execution.
