Johnny was very professional, respectful, and provided beautiful music for my aunts graveside service. Hes an extremely talented piper and great communicator. The music set a beautiful tone for a wee Scottish ladies humble service. Thanks so much.
Johnny Miner was very professional. He contacted me quickly and gave me options of songs that would be perfect for my event. He made sure he got all the details of the event and he followed all the details perfectly. His performance was flawless and really added to our graveside service.

Johnny was so easy to work with. I reached out to him two days before my father's funeral and he didn't even hesitate to help me. He was there early and made my dad's funeral service so beautiful. Such a talent he has and I'm so happy we got to hear it.

John played Danny Boy at the service and Amazing Grace at the cemetery as well as music leaving the mortuary and unloading the casket. During a very difficult time he was able to provide a beautiful touch and special memory that I will treasure. Than you!
John Miner played at my sons funeral and it was amazing. The music really created a beautiful atmosphere on a very difficult day. The cost was reasonable and he was early and ready as soon as we arrived. I will definitely recommend his services to friends and family.
Johnny played at my brothers funeral. He was so kind and considerate while organizing the event. He offered song ideas and was so incredibly sweet. He played 3 songs for us and it was such a beautiful touch. It really helped to set the tone of the funeral. It was hot outside and he was dressed in the traditional kilt and had no complaints. He made sure to hang around after the funeral so he could tell me how much of an honor it was to play for my brother. I am so grateful I found Johnny. Thank you so much for your service.
Johnny did a fantastic job. Showed up on time, took the time to give our grandkids a little history lesson. We would use him again.
Johnny did awesome many people said how awesome the bagpipes were and what a great tribute to my dad and our heritage.
Johnny did an excellent job at the graveside service. The bagpipes were beautiful and brought a meaningful and spiritual touch to the day.
Johnny was very professional. His music was perfect for our mother’s funeral.
We hired Johnny for our graveside service at the cemetery and it was beautiful. He was dressed in the traditional wear - so great. His music made the service complete. He played respectful and calming music for a prelude, performed a musical number (Be Still My Soul), and concluded with the postlude. It was freezing outside and he played continuously, which was amazing. It truly made the event terrific and had everyone in tears with how sentimental, spiritual, and beautiful it turned out. I know my uncle was smiling from above. I would rebook Johnny for any future events where I’d like bagpipes played.
We hired John for my sister's graveside. He helped us select the songs and timing, and was patient as we figured out what we wanted. He was early, immaculately dressed, and played beautifully. He helped us say goodbye with dignity and provide the type of burial service my sister wanted.
We're very grateful to have had Johnny play the bagpipes at my father's funeral. He was so gracious and kind and professional. Everyone commented on how amazing it was to have the bagpipes playing at the internment. Thank you, Johnny!
Thank you again for your tender and moving bagpipes playing at my brother’s funeral. You played beautifully and were so very helpful and creative in planning our graveside dedicatory prayer portion. I’ve told my family I want you at my funeral service!
We had Johnny play for us for three hours during our renaissance day festival at University Place. It was sunny, it was hot, but he didn't complain. He played beautifully, interacted with the crowd and was easy to work with when we wanted to adjust things. I would highly recommend Johnny for anyone's event!
Johnny is totally professional and a very fine musician. He was respectful and accommodating. I recommend him most enthusiastically.
Absolutely lovely. Punctual, professional, and looked very sharp in a kilt. Everyone commented afterwards on how his performance was a perfect ending for the service. Also very affordable. Highly recommend.

He did great!
Johnny played the bagpipes at my mothers graveside service. It made the experience far more special than our family could have imagined. Thank you!
Johnny was eager to fulfill our vision for my mom's birthday celebration!
Miner was easy to work with. He was competent bag pipe player. He dressed the part. Was on time and patient. Days was cloudy and cold and he was outside so he had to keep his instrument warm too so that it played correctly. I would and will hire him again when the time is right.
We hired Johnny for our wedding to play our processional and recessional music. He was a last minute addition to our ceremony and he made it a home run.
He was flexible, worked with us on the music we wanted, Highland Cathedral for the processional, and since it was on May 4th, he was able to play the Star Wars theme song for us on the recessional which was the icing on the cake.
Seeing him lead, and hearing the Pipes played flawlessly while the processional happened put chills down everyone's spine.
Everyone commented on how it was one of the best weddings and the piper was amazing.

My name is John Miner. Playing the bagpipes has been a passion of mine for many years and is a big part of who I am. I love sharing this passion with others. I began playing the bagpipes in 1997. My early instructors provided a solid foundation of piping fundamentals as well as a passion for the music of the pipes. I was exposed early on to world class piping, receiving personal instruction from some of the world’s best pipers when the world champion Simon Fraser University Pipe Band visited my home town in 1999 and 2000. Inspired by these early experiences, I resolved to always seek out the very best possible instruction and to immerse myself in great piping whenever possible. I received instruction from world champion bagpiper Jori Chisholm. Jori’s instruction helped me gain numerous solo prizes throughout the western US and to rise through the ranks to grade 1. I have also received instruction from world class piper Ian Whitelaw. I was a founding member of the Mount Timpanogos Pipe Band, leading the band as Pipe Major from 2003 - 2010. I also played with the Utah Pipe Band (grade 3) from 2003 - 2004. From 2008 till the present I have played with the Wasatch & District Pipe Band. I was the Pipe Sergeant of the band from 2013 - 2016. In August 2011, I competed as a member of the band at the World Pipe Band Championships is Glasgow, Scotland. This was a dream come true and a highlight of my piping career. As a result of the band's competitive success, the band was upgraded to grade 2 in the fall of 2014 making it one of a only a dozen or so bands in North America to reach that designation. Piping is a life long passion of mine and it is a pleasure to share this special music with others.
