Lead vocalist, Amy Raynes Fox (Vince Vance & Valiants, Lindy & The Look, Doug Kershaw, Calvacade of Stars) has a special, uncanny ability to sound like each artist the band covers, making their style indistinguishable from the sounds of Stevie Nicks, Miranda Lambert, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Nancy Sinatra, Sheryl Crow & so many others! Uptown Live were great! We really appreciated the range of songs they played and it was perfect for our mixed age crowd. Adults and kids alike were singing along and created a great atmosphere for our Restaurant/Bar.

September 24, 2025A Night to Remember with The Uptown Beggars
From the moment The Uptown Beggars took the stage at my birthday party, it was clear that this band wasn’t just playing music—they were creating an unforgettable experience. Amy, the lead singer, brought an electric presence to the room, her voice a perfect blend of power and soul, effortlessly drawing us all into the music. Whether she was belting out a classic rock anthem or soothing us with a smooth ballad, every note felt deeply personal, as if she was singing directly to each of us.
Gary, Scot, and Dave were the heartbeat of the performance. Dave’s work was nothing short of mesmerizing, weaving intricate melodies that perfectly complemented Amy’s vocals. Scot’s playing laid down a groove that had everyone moving, while Gary on drums brought the rhythm to life with precision and passion. The synergy between the band members was palpable—they weren’t just a group of musicians, they were a family, and their chemistry was infectious.
The Uptown Beggars played an eclectic mix of tunes, ranging from timeless classics to contemporary hits, and they managed to infuse every song with their own unique style. Each track felt fresh and exciting, keeping us on our toes and dancing all night long. The energy in the room was unmatched, with everyone singing along, laughing, and just enjoying the magic they created.
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday. The Uptown Beggars made it truly special, and I’m still buzzing from the incredible night. If you ever have the chance to see them perform, don’t hesitate—trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

June 1, 2023Rocked Out at a 90th Birthday Party
Most people wouldn’t use the words “a blast”, “a rager”, “fun for everyone” to describe a 90th birthday party. Fox City band helped make the party all of those things! From the birthday girl at 90 to a 7 year old- Everyone was so united to sing and dance along. A great variety of songs that spoke to the guests. The band was friendly, welcoming and SO talented!! Would highly recommend them for any occasion.

Uptown Live is an energetic, Dallas-based variety cover band. Classic rock is our main genre with an emphasis on Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Sheryl Crow, & Rolling Stones. As our music "takes you back" we also sprinkle in favorites from other genres: country, motown, r&b: -60's through the music of today.
We've also created some custom medleys to keep everyone on the dance floor, ensuring your guests never experience a "dead air" or awkward moment.
