I play keyboard covers of pop, indie, alternative and Christian music. I draw from a wide variety of subgenres and time periods to appeal to all tastes. I have a portable keyboard rig that can fit in a small area, but my amplifier (which can run off a battery if needed) has ample sound to fill large spaces.
DISCLAIMER: I am currently attending college at Truman State University in Kirksville. Springfield is my hometown, and I am most available/best equipped to play gigs when I'm home on breaks (winter, spring, summer). My availability during the school year depends on whether or not I can arrange transportation to and from the gig (for myself and my gear), or if it can be arranged for me.
Tyler was amazing! We picked out several songs we wanted him to play for our wedding ceremony and gave him the option of what to play as guests arrived and as they were leaving the ceremony. He absolutely amazing is with is incredible skill! Tyler even stayed to play while the wedding party took pictures!
Price Range: $50/hour (negotiable)
Gig Length: 60 - 300 minutes
What to Expect
I aim to provide unique keyboard covers that suit the venue I'm playing at. I also play melodica and synthesizer (keytar/vocoder), and I can combine all of these with top-line music software to play a variety of different instrument sounds and arrangements, including one-man-band performances.
I'm very good at matching songs that have congruent chord structures and performing them live in a medley/mashup style. I like to blend similar-sounding works from differing genres to create a surprising and dynamic performance.
If you don't have any specific song/genres to request, I'll read the mood of the event and adjust my setlist to best complement the energy of the venue. If I'm playing at a restaurant or café, you'll probably hear a lot of pop covers played in an easy-listening style. If it's more of a low-fi venue, I might play some of indie hits and downtempo stuff. If I'm playing at a festival or sporting event, I'll probably play some 80's synthpop and rock ballads, as well as some high-energy modern day pop and alternative classics. If you'd like me to play for a private event such as a wedding or birthday party, we can communicate and develop a personalized setlist, and I can learn any songs you want me to if you give me enough notice.
I am an 18-year-old college freshman and keyboard fanatic. I've been playing piano since I was six, and started playing by ear when I was around ten. I've been performing for people ever since I started learning, but over the past year I've played for weddings, banquets, retreats, and regular shows at venues in downtown Springfield (The Tower Club, Gailey's Breakfast Café, etc.).
I have extensive experience with recording/performance software (Ableton Live 9 Suite, KORG Gadget, GarageBand), and use it frequently in my performances (when appropriate) as well as for home recording. In addition to performance gigs, I offer lessons in improvisational piano, as well as recording software training for the aforementioned technologies. I work extremely well with other musicians if you're looking for a keyboardist to play in a band, or if you need a session musician/jingle writer.
Additional Booking Notes
I will need to be stationed in a reasonably well-lit space that's at least 5 feet wide, 6 feet long, and 6 feet tall. A stage would be great, but my keyboard is pretty portable so as long as you have a decent-sized place to put me (with electrical access), I should be able to make it work.

Influences & Inspiration
I listen to a near-unhealthy amount of music from a myriad of genres. Some of my favorites include 90's Alternative/Alt Rock, Post-Punk Revival, Indie Rock/Folk, Synthpop, Techno (Glitch, EDM, IDM, Dubstep), Experimental (Trip-Hop), and Irish/Celtic Rock.
My biggest influences include Radiohead, Foster The People, Gorillaz, DJ Shadow, Coldplay, Tim Rosenau, TobyMac, and Matt Maher.
Piano - if you can provide one and only want me to play piano covers, then I can use that. If you can't (or want me to use my electronic equipment for more diverse performances), I'll plan on bringing my keyboard.
Audio - I have a 40-watt PA and stand, with a built-in multi-channel mixer. I have a microphone/stand which can be used for vocals or to mic my melodica. I can also plug into existing sound systems, or just use my keyboard's built-in speakers.
Keyboard - mine is about 5 feet long, 1.5 feet wide, and 3 feet tall, so my performance space should be at least that big. It has reasonably-loud built-in speakers. I'll need a power outlet, and I have my own extension cord/power strip.
Melodica - breath-powered acoustic instrument, a sort of cross between an accordion and a harmonica. Can be played loudly enough as-is to fill most spaces, over most noise levels, but I can mic it for extra power.
Synth/Laptop - both can be ran through my PA's mixer, and are ideal for full-stage performances. I use these for my one-man-band/looping arrangements.
