Troy Hale
Overview
I’m a Certified Financial Planner, community leader, and speaker who has spent 20+ years helping people make better decisions.
My talks use humour, research, and stories from a somewhat unusual life—raising a daughter with an intellectual disability, running marathons, setting a Guinness World Record, winning Family Feud Canada, and working with thousands of people through some of life's biggest decisions.
I speak about decision-making, resilience, inclusion, change and money. Complicated subjects that become a lot more useful when we make them human.

What to expect
I’m a Certified Financial Planner, community leader and speaker who has spent more than 20 years helping people make better decisions.
My presentations combine humour, research, practical ideas and stories from a somewhat unusual life — raising a daughter with an intellectual disability, running marathons, setting a Guinness World Record, winning Family Feud Canada, and helping thousands of people navigate some of life’s biggest financial decisions.
I speak about decision-making, resilience, inclusion, change and money — complicated subjects that become a lot more useful when we make them human.
Audiences can expect a conversational, story-driven presentation rather than a lecture or motivational pep talk. I use real experiences to explore bigger ideas, make complicated concepts easy to understand, and give people practical things to think about and take back to their lives, workplaces and communities.
Every presentation can be tailored to the audience and the goals of the event. Topics can include:
• Decision-making under uncertainty
• Resilience and navigating change
• Inclusion, belonging and disability
• Financial wellness and behaviour
• Leadership and communication
• Personal growth through adversity
Whether I’m speaking to businesses, educators, nonprofits or community organizations, my goal is simple: make people laugh, make them think, and leave them with something worth remembering.
About
Troy Hale, CFP®, CIM® is a speaker, financial planner, and community leader based in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
For more than 20 years, Troy has made a career out of taking complicated subjects and making them easier to understand—whether the subject is money, decision-making, change, inclusion, or navigating a life that doesn't always go according to plan.
His perspective comes from an unusually broad collection of experiences. Troy is a two-time marathon finisher, Guinness World Record holder, Family Feud Canada champion and Treasurer of Inclusion Alberta. As the father of a daughter with an intellectual disability, he has also spent years advocating for inclusion and learning firsthand how people, families and organizations adapt when circumstances aren't simple.
Professionally, Troy is a Certified Financial Planner who has spent more than two decades helping thousands of Albertans make important financial decisions.
On stage, he brings those worlds together through humour, research, practical ideas and personal stories. His presentations are conversational rather than preachy, and can be tailored to businesses, educators, nonprofits and community organizations.
Speaking topics include:
• Decision-making under uncertainty
• Resilience and navigating change
• Inclusion, belonging and disability
• Financial wellness and behaviour
• Leadership and communication
• Personal growth through adversity
Troy also develops customized presentations around the needs of an organization or event.
