Technical Requirements & Event Setup

My steel drum performance is designed to be simple, flexible, and easy to accommodate for a wide variety of events. I aim to make the process smooth for event planners while delivering excellent sound quality and a professional presentation.

Space Requirements:
I typically require a minimum performance area of 6x6 feet to comfortably set up the steel drum, stand, and sound equipment. For larger events or stages, additional space is always welcome but not necessary.

Power Needs:
Access to one standard electrical outlet (110V) within 10–15 feet of the performance area is preferred for my sound system. If power is not available, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly.

Sound:
I provide my own professional sound system suitable for small to medium-sized events (indoor or outdoor). For larger venues, stages, or audiences, I can connect to the house sound system if available. A standard 1/4" or XLR input is typically required.

Lighting:
No special lighting is required. However, for evening or stage performances, adequate lighting on the performance area is appreciated to enhance visibility and presentation.

Setup & Breakdown Time:

Setup: Approximately 30–45 minutes
Breakdown: Approximately 20–30 minutes

Environment:
For outdoor events, a covered or shaded area is recommended to protect the instrument and equipment from direct sun, rain, or extreme weather conditions.

Additional Notes:

I arrive early, dressed appropriately for the event, and ready to coordinate with event staff.
Volume levels can be adjusted to suit background ambiance or featured performance.
Flexible performance times and sets available based on event needs.
