Perfect!

We hired Alicia to play music during our wedding ceremony. As a very particular and organized bride, I sent her music and timing instructions which she followed and played absolutely perfectly. Thank you SO much for the communication and for making our special day even more special.

Don't Hesitate

Alicia Randisi-Hooker played for my daughter's wedding. She performed beautifully and everyone loved her. She helped us find appropriate music and learned new music that we wanted played. Communication was excellent. She was on time, very professional and lovely to work with.

Wedding Hire

I cannot recommend Alicia enough! She was the most beautiful part of my wedding day. Having her play meant so much to me because she was also my private cello teacher growing up, and after 12 years it was such an honor to see her again. Her performance was absolutely breathtaking—every note was heartfelt and elegant, creating the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony. She brought not only incredible talent but also a deep sense of warmth and familiarity that made my day even more special.

Hired as: Cellist

About

Alicia has performed both solo and chamber music extensively in both the United States and Europe. She has been a member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Oak Ridge Symphony, the Shreveport Symphony, the Philly Pops, and many other orchestras in the Philadelphia area, in addition to orchestras in Pennsylvania, Texas and Louisiana. She is an avid chamber musician who has performed regularly with ensembles in and around the Knoxville area. Her studies with the Alban Berg Quartet at the International Institute for Chamber music have fueled her commitment to performing chamber music throughout her professional life, and provided opportunities to perform in Munich Germany, Marktoberdorf, Germany, Salzburg, Austria, Dijon, France, and Rome, Italy. As a member of the piano trio, Trillium, she has toured the east coast and mid-west on the university circuit and performs regularly at Maryville College’s Clayton Center for the arts, where the trio is in residence twice each year.
Alicia holds a Master of Music in cello performance from the Esther Boyer College of Music, (Temple University) where she also taught at the Center for Gifted Young Musicians (CGYM) and later at the Academy of Children"s Music, where she was head of the cello department and led a faculty of 29 teachers as Dean of Faculty. Since moving to Tennessee, Alicia has maintained a private studio of 20 aspiring young cellists, and has taught at the Tennessee Cello Workshop in addition to many Suzuki Institutes across the United States. More information on her teaching can be found at (link hidden).

Additional booking notes

While we are flexible and want to reach a wide audience, we also have a few basic needs! The following things will help us give you our very best!
For strings only, it's vitally important to have some sort of canopy or cover for outdoor events, or a shelter in case of inclement weather. Fine wooden string instruments cannot be exposed to the elements, including direct hot, bright sunlight, which can damage the varnish and cause tuning problems which can impact the way we sound.
For performances with piano, we need a well-maintained instrument that has been recently tuned in order to sound our best for you.
