Tray Boswell has been a premier pianist and singer in Dallas area clubs, restaurants, bars, hotels and lounges for the past 25 years.  Playing everything by ear and with a repertoire of over 2000 songs, he can play virtually anything – just hum a few bars for him – you’ll never see him look at a sheet of music.  He loves requests and likes to move seamlessly through a wide variety of timeless music favorites.  Listen carefully and you may hear him gently swing from the Peanuts Theme right into a popular Beethoven piece, lure you through a medley from Bruno Mars, a Coldplay hit, an Elton John favorite, and end with a tune by Michael Buble!  Tray creates the perfect ambiance to enhance your wedding reception, Christmas party, business function, dinner party, or banquet.

Tray, a Dallas native, has been bringing music to all since he was very young. His parents bought him a piano when he was 5 years old after noticing his aptitude for picking out songs by ear on a toy keyboard. Tray began taking piano lessons and continued off-and-on for a few years, but he typically lacked the patience to read music from the written page and primarily learned most of his songs by coming up with his own arrangements entirely by ear.

His love for all types of music continued to grow rapidly, and by age 16 he was playing nightly at a local Italian restaurant, already playing an eclectic variety of selections ranging from ragtime to Beethoven to the Beatles or Billy Joel. Tray has always been a crowd pleaser because he’s known for playing songs you wouldn’t expect to hear on a piano: songs from popular movies and TV shows, Mozart, Radiohead, or even Pink Floyd! Most recently he’s been working as a Princess Cruise Lines musician.

Tray graduated from Texas Tech in 1992 with a degree in Marketing, but his real focus has remained on playing piano and singing both solo and with various bands & combos at several nightclubs and restaurants throughout his college years.  After moving to Dallas, Tray landed several regular gigs at various Dallas restaurants and bars where he still continues to perform.  Tray has developed quite a following in Dallas over the years, and recorded his first CD in 2002, entitled First Takes. All of the selections he recorded were off-the-cuff and completely unedited (listen to some on his website.)  He is currently recording a new demo to reflect his various musical styles.

I can provide all my own equipment including digital piano, synthesizer, microphones, speakers, mixing board, and gear to use my PA system or plug into a house sound system.
