Tracey Simon not only keeps the audience laughing, she is a talented event planner as well. At our Comedy Night last November, she secured and scheduled the comedians, provided the publicity, arranged a myriad of details, and kept the show moving. I'd gladly recommend her.

Linda Schwartz is the Co-President of the Sisterhood of Congregation B'nai Sholom-Beth David in Rockville Centre, NY. I was approached by a member to put together a show to kick-off their live programming. Working within their budget, I put together a 90-minute show featuring myself (I also emceed) and 6 other comics (one was the headliner).

What to expect
Audiences can expect 15-45+ minutes of clean* to PG-13 comedy, influenced by Erma Bombeck, Jim Gaffigan, and Sarah Millican (if you don't know her, you should). I write my own, original material, so you don't have to worry about old, hacky jokes. If you have a particular theme, I can write jokes for the occasion. I also don't mind sharing the stage with other comics or other performers (singers, magicians, dog acts, et al.) I can perform solo or put together a show for you with tested comics who I've worked with over the past two+ years. I can also do double duty as the emcee.
*Clean comedy is subjective, so we can always discuss what works for you and your audience.
About
Although I dabbled in the " business of funny" for about 20 years, I didn't get into it full-time until I retired in 2020 - two weeks before the world shut down! I'm a former PR associate who became a reference librarian in her Act II. So far, my Act III has started out well, performing on Zoom and in live venues, including comedy clubs and restaurants throughout Long Island, sneaking in a few in New Jersey, NYC, and upstate. I recently started emceeing shows, and have even produced a show, featuring me and 5 other funny folks "of a certain age" for Congregation B'nai Sholom-Beth David, their first live program in two years.
Born in Brooklyn (I'm officially a mid-century antique), raised in Queens, and exiled to Long Island, I started out in advertising and public relations, including the entertainment firm Rogers & Cowan and lifestyle firm Madeline de Vries Ltd. I changed gears after a stint doing PR for LIJ's Hillside Hospital (now Northwell's Zucker Hillside Hospital) and fulfilled a lifelong ambition of answering questions 35+ hours a week. I worked for several libraries on Long Island, at many of which I was the program coordinator (aka talent scout) and arts grant writer.
I've been married 42 years (why divorce a source of material?) and am the parent of a brave soul who decided to become a teacher in Texas (!). I am also the servant of a belligerent beagle named Rosie O'Doggell. I am also a breast cancer survivor.
Additional booking notes
I just need a working mic, a mic stand, and a decent PA speaker at the very minimum. I currently have my own mic (plug-in) and mic stand. I intend to get a portable speaker system later this year. Having a stage is a bonus, as long as it has a handrail and/or stairs, or wings in which the talent (myself included) can wait. However, a well-lit corner of a room or solid wall will suffice.
Influences and inspiration
I grew up watching Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, and Totie Fields on the Ed Sullivan Show. I recently have come to know about the work of Jean Carroll. Other influences are Elayne Boosler, Rita Rudner, Carol Liefer, and most recently, British comic Sarah Millican. I also admire the work of Jim Gaffigan, Demitri Martin, and Gabriel Iglasias (Didn't want to leave the guys out).
Setup requirements
Mic, mic stand, and a PA/Speaker system. I have my own, if needed.
