As an Inspirational speaker, I encourage, inspire and empower others from children to aged adults to pursue life and their purpose for being on this Earth. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by profession, and love to help people change their unhealthy thinking habits to positive ones. Sometimes, people have not been told who they are or who they can become. My job is to let you know who you are and push you to that place of belief in yourself through inspirational speaking. Who am I? I am a muse, a dichotomy at times, quirky, a helper and healer with the help of God, I am a work in progress that’s why I am able to help others because I am not above doing the work that I ask you to do, I am constantly learning myself, expanding and growing as I hope you also are! I am a motivational speaker who speaks to the power that is within you! Growing up and well into my adult years, I did not know or walk in the power inside of me. Well guess what? I’m woke and ready to share with you how you can learn the power within yourself. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I learned so much about how our thoughts and minds are intertwined. What we think comes from the power within. Oftentimes, I have found that people have not been taught about the power they have, nor how to use it. I am here to encourage, inspire, and motivate you to begin to walk in your power!
As I spoke above, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I attended Purdue University Northwest and received my Masters in Science in Child and Family Studies in 2012. I started doing therapy much earlier than when I actually received my degree. I have been a Licensed Barber for 28 years and was listening and helping clients in that capacity. I could not see myself standing behind a chair when I was old so I went to school to get my degree.
I became a Marriage and Family Therapist because I saw numerous divorces in my own family and wanted to beat the odds of which I did not. I am on my second marriage and I’m still learning how to do this thing called “marriage” but enjoy Couples work the MOST! I come from a family where religion was something that was important to strictly adhere to and has caused a rift in my family of origin so working with families to work through all the dynamics that come with multiple personalities within the family is of utmost to me. I like helping the individual have their own autonomy but still gel with their family as a whole.
My favorite quote is my own, “A healed mind leads to a healed life.” Once you heal your mind, everything else will fall in place!
Public speaking also serves in me helping others. I love to encourage, motivate, uplift, and push others to their fullest potential! I am vibrant, full of life, transparent, vulnerable and engaging which aids in opening up the inner self of my audience and moves them to action!
