Overview

I'm a pianist with experience in many different styles of music, so I cater to the individual venue or event depending on what the mood calls for. I can play Jazz Standards, Pop/Rock/R&B hits from the 60's to today, beloved classical pieces, or even church/gospel music. I will rotate through different styles if that works for you, and I have enough material that I never have to repeat the same tune twice. I will either bring my own keyboard setup or play whatever piano the venue might already have. I have played in restaurants, hotels, private parties, and more. I play solo but can also easily jump in with a singer or a jazz band.

What to expect

I'm a pretty low-key performer, and I do best either providing background music or being part of a band. I am friendly and willing to talk to anyone at an event, but when I play I generally focus on what I'm doing; I don't "bring the party" if that's what you need. I like to provide a supporting role, either to other musicians or simply by elevating the atmosphere of a room with nice harmonies. The best way to describe me would be "cocktail pianist" or "jazz pianist."

About

I've been playing the piano since I was 7 years old, and started in classical music. I graduated from Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach in 2006, and then studied at FAU in Boca Raton, eventually earning a Master of Music degree there in 2015. Most of my career I've been doing a mix of teaching and playing, like many musicians. I've been a Music Director at a church for many years, I used to perform all over South Florida with a funk/jazz trio called "Tchaa," and I frequently accompany singers as well as playing solo at private parties or other venues. I began studying jazz in college, and love to play the old standards, but I also have fun making pop/rock/R&B hits into piano solos. I'm also very proficient with reading music, so I can add songs to my list quickly by finding some sheet music. I'm very easy to work with, and will play pretty much anything if requested beforehand. Recently I closed a long-running teaching business I operated with my family, and I'm making an effort to play more live music, so I hope to add some good atmosphere to your venue or event!

Additional booking notes

I don't really have any requirements other than a space to play, and information about whether I need my own instrument or not.
