Tinsel Singers

Tinsel performs totally original arrangements of your favorite standards and classics in tight jazz harmonies. A trio or quartet will arrive at your event a little early to find a good place to sing and do a sound check. We often sing without amplification when the acoustics are right, but we also have a sound system that we can set up for larger venues and outdoor events. Our performance attire is black and silver retro cocktail, inspired by the mid-century jazz scene. We can tailor our performance to your specific needs, so whether you want a concert presentation or just some swinging background music, we can accommodate. Our mission is to entertain, to stir up your musical nostalgia, and to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck with our tightly tuned harmonies. Tinsel was established in 2015 with the goal of raising the bar of holiday singing across central Texas while providing equitable professional opportunities to Austin’s best performers. We are a company of 25 trained vocalists, with decades of experience between us and a love for locking harmonies.

Beginning in 2026, Tinsel is delighted to provide entertainment for a variety of celebrations and events all year long – both corporate and private. From weddings to family gatherings to company parties, let the Tinsel Singers add that special sparkle to your event with our beloved jazz standards and nostalgic classics. We can sing acoustically or with a sound system, depending on your venue. Arrangements need to be made in advance if our sound system is required. We prefer to be in a well-lit area, but we can make a cozy fireside work too. Our singers require access to water and restroom facilities on all gigs, and outdoor events are contingent on weather that is tolerable. Our quartets take a 10 minute break every hour.
