It's one thing to go out and play the hits; it's another to play them well. Tim and The Pickups strive to strike a balance between vintage authenticity and modern innovation when playing your favorites from the golden era of Soul and Rock 'n Roll.
We aim to breathe new life into some familiar songs by blending classic tunes with contemporary arrangements (and vice versa). Our greatest success comes when we know our audience is having as much fun in the crowd as we are having on stage. While it may seem like a simple goal we work hard to get it right.

Expect to have fun with us! We love to play music so our goal every time we play out is to get more people in on the fun-having action. If this means encouraging people to hit the dance floor, we're down for it. If it means laying low at first so your party can enjoy the food first we can do that, too.
Tim has been involved in the Twin Cities music scene for over 15 years, most notably with his band "Man From Fiery Hill". Now backed by The Pickups, Tim is focused on making your night fun!
Tim's backing band, The Pickups, is composed of a number of musicians in the area with previous and current experience playing with General B and The Wiz, RLGDPPL, Michael Shynes, One (The Only Metallica Tribute), as well as events with local church and non-profit groups. They set the backbeat for Tim's vocal stylings while also engaging crowds to do more than passively experience live music.
