What to expect

When you bring Tom in to speak, you’re getting someone real. A man who knows what it means to walk through hard times and still trust God. Your audience won’t just sit through a message. They’ll feel understood, uplifted, and inspired to hold on to their faith no matter what life throws at them.

Tom speaks with the heart of a pastor and the grit of someone who’s worked the land, turned wrenches, and stood by people in their darkest moments. He uses plain language, real-life stories, and solid Scripture to reach people of all backgrounds. His messages are sincere, Bible-centered, and full of hope.

You can expect:
• Clear, engaging messages rooted in God’s Word
• Someone who is easy to work with, respectful of your schedule and goals
• A speaker who connects with people, not just from the stage but face to face
• Talks that feel personal, not prepackaged
• A heart for encouraging the overlooked and weary
• Consistent communication from booking to follow-up

Tom’s messages fit perfectly in:
• Men’s retreats
• Church services
• Small group or leadership gatherings
• Conferences for recovery, encouragement, or spiritual renewal
• Special events for communities, ministries, or church teams

Tom also brings copies of his books to make available if your event includes a space for that. If your team is unable to help with the book table, he can arrange for someone to assist if his wife is not present. Everything is handled with simplicity and respect for your event’s structure.

You’ll get someone who comes to serve, not to impress. Someone who will encourage your people, speak truth with compassion, and leave your group talking about what they heard long after the event ends.

About

Tom is a speaker for the common folks. The kind of guy who understands busted knuckles, busted plans, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going when life gets heavy. He doesn’t come from polished stages or silver spoons. He comes from farm fields, mechanic shops, and small-town settings. His messages are rooted in everyday grit, God’s Word, and real-life encouragement.

Born in Colorado, raised in Kansas, and living in Louisiana since 1987 (with a short detour through Arkansas), Tom has spent most of his life working as a maintenance mechanic, horticulturalist, and farmer. He stepped into ministry in 1988 and became a senior pastor in 2024. He and his wife have been married for over 40 years, with three grown sons and nine grandchildren. He knows firsthand the challenges of holding onto faith through loss, hard work, and seasons of waiting.

Tom speaks on topics like:
• Overcoming hardship with spiritual grit
• Finding purpose when you feel forgotten
• Living by God's Word when life feels unfair
• Becoming a man of strength and humility
• Holding onto hope in hard times
• What it means to walk by faith through real-life struggles

He is available to speak at:
• Men’s retreats
• Church services
• Leadership weekends
• Recovery and renewal events
• Pastor conferences
• Ministry and outreach gatherings

Tom is the author of:
• Grounded With Grit
• Living Through Grit
• The Trouble With Tuesdays
• The Legend of Lumpy Grizzle
• Big Bayou Reckoning
• Grace in the Grit Series (Bible studies for small groups)

His books and messages are published through Full Grit Publishing, a ministry committed to creating clean, faith-centered, and hope-filled content. The goal is simple: to reflect the grit of real life and the grace of a faithful God.

If you’re looking for a down-to-earth speaker who will connect with your people, speak truth with love, and encourage hearts that are worn down by life, Tom would love to be part of your next event.
