Overview

Regardless of whether you choose to hire us for solo work or our normal duo or trio band, we will deliver high quality popular cover songs from many genres and decades. You can choose a single genre or any mix of Classic-Country; Old-Country; Classic-Rock; 1940's big-band; Pop; or Smooth-Jazz in addition to your preferred decade(s). Our typical and standard setlist is a rich mix of genres and decades or songs everyone knows. We strive to deliver just the right vibe for your event, and our music is known for inspiring dancing. Regardless of whether you choose a solo, duo or trio band option, you will get our full big-band signature sound.

We enjoyed working with Don. Unfortunately, however, some of the expectations that were clearly communicated early on and were contingent upon us booking him were not upheld. We booked for a holiday event and specifically requested 100% holiday music which was agreed to. Unfortunately, even though I would say it was majority, there were quite a few songs that weren't holiday. In addition, we requested lighting to be provided which was agreed upon. On the day, it was only until after the performance started that we realized there was no lighting and thus we had to pull some out of storage last minute or he would've been in total darkness. Don is super pleasant to work with, but we were disappointed on these aspects.

This client & the performer have slightly different versions on what happend at this gig.

For a 2-hour set, I provided approximately 1.5-hours of Christmas only songs. The cliet felt that was insufficient. It is true a couple songs at the start and end of the set were not Christmas songs, the 1st was my warm-up song and the last was my playout song and together those took 7-minutes. I did perform a couple Country songs mid set that a guest at the event who dropped reqeusted, and I obliged them.

During the 2-hour set I also provided an unplanned missing chiled announcement. 15 minutes later a missing parent announcement was requested and the child was left with me to entertain? This took time but I handled it while trying to continue to perform.

It is true that during the initial email exchange with client I did commit to bring some modest lighting which was in my vehicle. However, since there was some existing overhead lighting near my play area on the grass, I asked the client if that lighting would be lighted after dark, to which they responded yes. I made the call to not install my more complex lighting strucutre so there would be not chance of the music starting late. I thought the existing overhead lighting was adequate, the client apparently did not and decided to install their own LED lighting from nearby storage, while I continued to play. If I had stopped to fetch and install more complex lighting I had, there would have been no music playing for about 20-minutes. As the sole performer that seemed the right deision. The client placed several LED lights on the ground and that worked well.

Finally, during the 2-hour set, I took no breaks so the client's event benefited from an extra 15-minutes of play time.

I hate having to defend my actions in this way, but the client chose to leave a negative damaging review on this site, so this is my only recourse. A private email or phone call would have gotten the client a refund.

So good! So good!

Just heard this band in Florence at the Vineyard! They were amazing! Her vocals were excellent and his guitar playing was incredible! The variety of songs were so familiar and it sounded so good! Would highly recommend them!

Additional booking notes

Equipment & Power Requirements:
Our band has all it's own audio and sound equipment and does not require anything from the venue except close by (within 25-feet) access to (1) dedicated 120VAC 15amp standard power receptacle.

However, for performances planned in areas where power is not readily available or reliable, and upon special request, the band does have an off grid battery source option for up to 6-hours of performance time. That option is available only upon advanced client request and carries a small additional cost.

Connectivity to Venue (optional):
The band does not require any connectivity to the venue and brings all of its own mixer, PA and audio equipment for up to 600 guests. However the Client or the Venue itself may wish or require that the band feed their (line-level) audio output signal to a front of house (FOH) system for further amplification by the venue house systems. In such case the band will present to the venue a single (band-mixed) stereo (line-level) output signal presented on a single (1/4-inch TRS STEREO output jack). The venue will be responsible for providing a cable from that jack to their FOH system(s) along with appropriate technical sound engineer talent needed to control the FOH systems.

Exclusive venue FOH Amplification:
In special cases where a certified venue hired Sound Engineer is available, the band may opt to allow the venue / sound engineer to provide all Main Out Amplification. In such case, the band left / right mixer outputs may be used by the venue. The venue will be responsible for providing such XLR cables for connection between the bands mixer and venue FOH system(s) and for provideing the sound engineer.

Band Area Lighting (option):
The band does not normally carry or provide band lighting equipment and relies on lighting provided by the Client or Venue. If daytime and outdoors clearly no lighting may be needed. If evening and upon advanced client reqeust, the band can provide limited portable lighting for the band area only. There is a small uplift charge for this lighting option.

Band Vehicle Parking at Venue:
The band will need to have closeby parking access for loadin / loudout, providing parking for at least (2) standard SUV size band member vehicles, preferrably at a loading dock area where small wagons with equipment may be offloaded and pulled into the building without requiring traversing any stairs or distances longer than a few hundred feet.

Influences and inspiration

As a multi-genre cover band our influences are far and wide and as a result our music is all over the map. It would literally take hours to list them all here.

What we can say is we attempt to cherry pick the best songs of every artist whose covers we decide to perform. We try hard to perform their songs as authentically as possible because we feel audiences expect to hear them as the artist originally delivered them, not with huge alterations. As a result, when a popular song starts up we often hear a brief audience reaction because they recognize the intro and are anticipating what is coming. For example, when a song like Dream by Stevie Nicks begins, audiences almost immediately react to the fairly long intro and we appreciate hearing that candid feedback as we know it was a good pick.
