Additionally, we provide African and Afro Caribbean drum percussions for all occasions weddings, birth/naming ceremonies, funerals, memorials, coming of age parties, Dj & drumming for afro-beat, house, ampianio music. We provide drumming workshops for children & adults and personal classes.

Born out of a desire to create positive change in the world, Evolution The Urban Shamans is more than just a band. Comprised of a group of individuals from different backgrounds, including visual artists, musicians, business owners, researchers, truth seekers, and healers, the band is united by a mission to bring unity and create systems in areas of health, art, and science for public healing and enlightenment.
The band's journey began in the year 2000, when Khamuo Kamel Heru and Brother Levi Hudari Sungu Ra (The Traveler) met at the Community College of Philadelphia. Sharing a passion for music, community, social activism, and brotherhood, the two began collaborating and implementing various programs around Philadelphia to empower and motivate the youth.
As the band's reputation grew, elder musician Charles Timmons (or Timi Tanzania) joined forces with the group, adding his own unique musical style and flavor. And when Farugh Maat began attending their shows, rejoicing with sensational dance alongs, the band was moved by his passion and welcomed him to join their community.
Through the years, The Urban Shamans has stayed true to their mission as change agents, inspiring countless individuals and artists along the way. With a commitment to love, truth, freedom, justice, and peace, the band has sparked and propelled a movement capable of transforming the world community and creating a more peaceful and harmonious society.
