Overview
The Uptown Groove has been on the Western and Central New York wedding and corporate event scene for over a decade now. We are a 6-piece band and best known for being highly professional, extremely talented, very versatile and easy to work with. We play a unique mix of current Top 40 pop/rock, 80’s pop/rock, 70’s disco/classics, Motown and R&B funk/soul.
A typical event package includes live cocktail hour and dinner music (if applicable), followed by multiple sets of high energy dance music. Complete DJ and MC services are included as well.

We were beyond thrilled with the Uptown Grooves performance at our wedding in August 2026. We asked for groove, funk, soul, and motown and they delivered! The energy on the dance floor was electric and it felt like we were attending their concert. I would recommend this band to anyone getting married in the upstate New York region - they are professional and clearly excellent musicians. All of our guests were so impressed!

We had Uptown Groove for our wedding this past weekend and they were just unbelievable. Music is just such a big part of the vibe and energy that day and they absolutely crushed it from end to end. During the reception they brought the house down- no one left the dance floor- people were even crowd surfing!! They made our wedding so special. I had over 50 guests tell me it was the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding- not even exaggerating!
On top of that they were so incredibly helpful through the whole process- they helped with my audio for the reception, planning my timeline, played through cocktail hour and dinner- and made the entire process so easy. They also have so much range from current pop hits to oldies to punk/emo to r&b it was crazy how versatile my playlist was.
I can’t recommend them enough- you won’t regret getting them!!

You must hire Uptown Groove for your wedding because they are 10/10! From the moment they started playing, every person was on the dance floor. As the bride, I don't think I stopped dancing for a second! The band's energy was unmatched, their sound quality was exceptional, and their organization and professionalism are truly fantastic. In the months leading up to the wedding, Seth thought of every little detail and orchestrated a plan that made the night so smooth. The transitions were impeccable, keeping our special day right on schedule. I really can't say enough about the caliber of this band. They covered so many different genres and styles, appealing to all generations, and had people from ages 7 to 97 on the dance floor all night long. Absolutely exceptional talent -- we highly recommend them for you wedding or next big event!

From the very first song to the final encore, they had every single guest on the dance floor. Their talent, energy, and professionalism are unmatched. The band was incredibly easy to work with—organized, flexible, and attentive to every detail. They thoughtfully incorporated our requests, read the room perfectly, and kept the energy high all night. The saxophone player even made his way into the crowd, which our guests absolutely loved! We received countless compliments from friends and family saying it was the best wedding band they’ve ever seen. I cannot put into words how amazing it was working with Uptown Groove for our July 2025 wedding in Buffalo, New York. From the jump, Seth was an extremely valuable resource. He worked with my husband and I to really understand our musical vision for our wedding and was extremely helpful while doing so. He even invited us to one of the band's gigs before our wedding, so we could get a feel for their sound and the band itself. We ended up going, and it was so great meeting them all!
The week before the wedding, we had a full debrief with Seth and Harper (one of the lead vocalists), where we discussed in detail the schedule for the big day. For our wedding, Uptown Groove provided a jazz trio during cocktail hour, MC'd the entire reception, and all 9 members absolutely brought the house down during the dancing portion of the night. It was INCREDIBLE! They really took into consideration our "must play" and "prefer not to play" songs. In addition to sounding fantastic, they also really kept the party going - the dance floor was PACKED all night. We cannot recommend Uptown Groove enough. When all 250 of your wedding guests tell you that "the band was insanely good," you know it's real! Thank you so much to Uptown Groove team for making our night unforgettable. BOOK THEM! You will NOT regret it!

Each member's musical background is unique, diverse and extensive, whereby enabling the band to seamlessly span various musical genres. With broad performance experience both individually and collectively, The Uptown Groove is a polished and professional act, making us the perfect choice for your wedding.
For a wedding, we are able to provide ceremony music, cocktail/dinner jazz, and then hours of high-energy dance/party music!
Additionally, most wedding packages include full DJ and MC services.
