The Unusual Guests
Overview
The Unusual Guests (T.U.G.) is a five-piece ensemble bringing back well-known hits from the last 5 decades. They feature superb female and male lead vocals with signature guitar leads and keyboard. Some call it Yacht Rock. Some call it Classic Rock. Some call it Pop. Perhaps it’s more a blend of each. No matter what you call it, TUG will have you smiling and singing along to forgotten songs all night long.

What to expect
We hope that our videos and descriptions say enough about what to expect.
This band delivers superb vocals and vocal harmonies. That is where audiences pay the most attention. Their soundman understands this and keeps their vocals on top and crystal clear. Not only does their audience get the standard guitar and piano repertoire, but The Unusual Guests also mixes in acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica and a host of wind and brass sounds to take the less traveled approach to some classic songs. TUG has been known to invite area musicians and vocalists to sit-in at their live shows and add to the banquet of talent on stage, hence the name. And you never know when they might pass out party favors such as shaker eggs to play along.
About
The Unusual Guests, (they sometimes call it TUG for short,) began as a duo featuring Karen and Erik. They played mostly Yacht Rock, Classic Rock, and they occasionally mixed in some pop and country. As the years went by, they slowly added other members to round out their sound. It eventually grew into a full-blown rock band which has been the case for nearly a decade now. They did, however, hold on to their roots in music styles. The regular members have all been personal friends for many years and enjoy activities together even when not playing music.
