Ryan and the St. Louis Big Band - thank you sincerely for the most unique, special performance that made my engagement proposal everything I hoped for. Your communication throughout the entire process was always prompt and professional. Writing a customized song so well and your on-point performance was just unreal. If you are booking a band do not make a mistake by choosing anyone else. Thank you again and god bless!
We hired St. Louis Big Band for our convention. We had secured the Fabulous Fox for the event and St. Louis Big Band for entertainment. WOW! The event was spectacular. St. Louis Big Band was perfect! No problem getting people dancing, they were up with the first song. The range of music was wonderful. Ryan was great to work with! He reached out to me personally before the event, which was so reassuring. The whole band was extremely professional and Joe Scalzitti melted our hearts with "New York, New York". Everyone LOVED this Band. Still receiving many compliments. I cannot thank them enough for the entire experience and I highly recommend them for any event.
Ryan and The St. Louis Big Band were absolutely OUTSTANDING! They were a huge hit at our wedding. Not only did they sound amazing, but they nailed our first dance song to a T. I lost count of how many guests came up to us to say how awesome they were. And I cannot recommend Ryan highly enough--of all of the vendors we used, he was hands-down the most thorough, reliable, and responsive of the bunch. We couldn't have been happier with these guys, and I would recommend them to friends (and strangers) in a heartbeat!
Working with Ryan and the St. Louis Big Band was an absolute delight! They are so professional, Ryan was amazing at communication and they are very talented musicians! They created a really great ambience at my event and did a great New Orleans style second line that was super fun! Highly recommend.
Outstanding performance? Will be eager to use again
The band was a huge hit. It completed the Great Gatsby theme to make you feel as if you were back in the day!
They were very easy to work with!
St Louis Big Band was AMAZING!!! They set the perfect tone for our NYE party. Will absolutely have them for future events
Super easy to work with, very professional, and so much fun. Ryan and the STL Big Band were an all around great group of talented musicians to complete our event!
I cannot say enough about the Big band. They were well prepared, professional and incredible performers. We were lucky to have them at our wedding. All of our guests commented on how wonderful Joe and the female singer were. Thank you so much for making our reception everything we wanted.
We had a quartet from The St. Louis Big Band for dinner music at our wedding. Everything went perfectly and we couldn't have been happier! The band played for cocktail hour and then continued until our DJ took over after dinner. The volume was perfect & we loved the classy feel they brought to the event. We received many comments from guests, the ambiance was great! They were really professional & we'd work with them again in a heartbeat!!
The St Louis Big Band was a wonderful band for our New Year's Eve event. The musicians in the band are top notch and our guests were very impressed. The band leader was also very receptive to the crowd and very accommodating when guests wanted music changes. The only thing that could have used improvement were the vocals but the musicians greatly made up for this.
Response from The St. Louis Big Band:
Ensuring a quality vocal performance is a top priority & regrettably our male vocalist had a cold that evening. Thank you for your kind words about our talented band members & our ability to accommodate the crowd!
We hired the St. Louis Big Band for our church Christmas program and they did a wonderful job. They sounded amazing and we're great to work with. We would work with them again in the future. Very professional!
If you are torn between a band or a DJ, then get the St. Louis Big Band and get both. Ryan was awesome to work with and even learned all of our song requests, even my dad's secret song request. I asked for a fog machine and they delivered. Even though my guest list went down in size, the St. Louis Big Band made it feel like a great big party and people couldn't stop talking about how much they loved the band.
The St. Louis Big Band even played some songs that I first wanted them to learn but then was replaced, during the DJ part of the night. So that was a nice surprise. And they even took some DJ song requests from my very Mexican side of the family and that made them very happy.
Although there were some small, but funny mishaps (the groom being called to dance with my mom during my dad's song to her), we had a blast and it was because of the St. Louis Big Band. I was able to dance all night while the groom mingled and they also handled a few of my drunk friends (who were huge fans) with care.
I would highly recommend The St. Louis Big Band. Rachel's voice is so beautiful and I'm glad we were able to get Joe as well. The duet for our first dance went above expectation and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of it. If you are looking for a way for your wedding to stand out from the rest, hire St. Louis Big Band.
Response from The St. Louis Big Band:
Thank you so much for all the compliments about the band and especially your gleaming words about our vocalists! We loved every minute of your event and are excited that we were recently booked for another performance at Integrity Hills later this year. I wanted to take a minute to apologize for my slip-up with your Mom & Dad’s dance. I review the instructions for every event scrupulously & am disappointed that I made that mistake. Thanks so much for your review and please keep in touch, your night was truly unforgettable! -Ryan
We wanted a band that was elegant but appealed to everyone. We checked into about 5 bands and after seeing the St. Louis Big Band we knew that we wanted them! We love how they worked songs for everyone into the mix and their professional approach. The St. Louis Big Band definitely filled the bill of everything we imagined!
I grew up in a musical house and have always loved big band music but my fiancé thought it would be kind of old-fashioned. Finally after watching their videos and listening to audio samples he was convinced & boy are we both glad he was!! We are absolutely satisfied with everything the St. Louis Big Band did and can't thank them enough! Everyone from young to old was on the dance floor and their big band versions of newer songs were especially well received! Thanks again!!!
Our dream was to have a Big Band play our wedding reception, so we contacted the St. Louis Big Band. Thrilled that they said "Yes", we looked through their incredible repertoire list and chose our favorites. The Director, Ryan Sheehan, worked with us every step of the way. We couldn't have been happier! Our guests were thrilled when they walked in and saw The St. Louis Big Band! You won't be disappointed!!
The St. Louis Big Band performed at my fall 2014 wedding and was amazing! We knew we wanted live music but were originally considering a smaller ensemble. After looking into multiple options we were blown away by the power of their 18 piece sound. Our guests never stopped dancing and the band even learned several songs for our special dances. Everyone is still talking about how much they enjoyed the music. Thank you so much to everyone at the St. Louis Big Band for making our night so special!
We hired the St. Louis Big Band for our wedding in November 2011 at Union Station Grand Hall. They were excellent! From the professional planning to the quality performance at the wedding, we could not have been happier with them.
Several members of our theatre company recently had the opportunity to attend a St Louis Big Band performance at Robbie's House of Jazz in Webster Groves, MO. The music was fantastic - we highly recommend their newly released CD! STL Big Band has an extensive repertoire to suit a variety of events.

The St. Louis Big Band was founded in 2010 by visionary alto saxophonist and composer Ryan Sheehan who was at the time 19 years old. His goal was to create a modern big band that has the energy, emotion, & passion of the great bands of yesteryear.
The 1930s were a time when big bands ruled the charts and over one-thousand 16-18 piece bands toured the country by train, bus, and boat playing the pop music of the day. The style was hot jazz and with vocals from artists like Peggy Lee and screaming clarinet riffs from the likes of Benny Goodman big band music quickly stole the attention of every single American regardless of age, race, or gender.
The St. Louis Big Band seeks to embody the spirit, energy, and passion that originally brought big band music to the forefront of popular music. We respect the past but look toward the future.
We are known for FRANK SINATRA, SWING, HOT-JAZZ & OLDIES with a smattering of pop covers for fun. The St. Louis Big Band is available in a 9 to 18 piece format.
The Band is made up of experienced professionals of all ages. Many have decades of experience and some have previously worked with the world's top artists. A short list of musicians STLBB members have performed with include Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, 2 time Grammy award winning songwriter Howard Levy of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, The Canadian Brass, Greg Pattillo (The Beatboxing Flutist), and many more.

Option #2: At least 18 feet x 18 feet suggested
