What to expect

Audiences can expect an evening of clean, professional Southern storytelling filled with laughter, heart, and relatable real-life experiences. My presentations combine humor, inspiration, and authentic stories about marriage, family, faith, growing older, raising children, and life in the South.

Rather than telling jokes one after another, I take audiences on a journey through true stories that are funny, meaningful, and memorable. Many people describe the experience as feeling like they are sitting on the front porch listening to an old friend share stories about life.

Audiences who enjoy the storytelling styles of Lewis Grizzard, Jerry Clower, and Jeanne Robertson will recognize the same blend of humor, warmth, and real-life storytelling throughout my presentations. The humor is clean, family-friendly, and appropriate for churches, banquets, retreats, senior adult events, civic organizations, and corporate gatherings.

Clients can expect professionalism, flexibility, and a presentation tailored to their audience. Programs can range from keynote speeches to full-length storytelling performances. Topics may include:

Southern humor and storytelling
Marriage and family life
Faith and perseverance
Growing older and starting over after 50
Inspirational life experiences
Clean comedy for community and church events

My goal is simple: to create an event where people laugh hard, connect emotionally, and leave feeling encouraged.

About

Lee Fitts is a native Nashvillian, Southern Storyteller, Humorist, Artist, Army veteran, and speaker whose presentations combine clean comedy, heartfelt inspiration, and unforgettable true stories about family, faith, marriage, and life in the South.

Inspired by legendary storytellers such as Lewis Grizzard, Jerry Clower, and Jeanne Robertson, Lee delivers performances filled with humor, warmth, and relatable life experiences that make audiences feel like they’re sitting on the front porch listening to an old friend.

With a background that includes military service, over 20 years as an artist and educator, and raising nine children with his wife, Lee brings a unique perspective to storytelling. His stories blend laughter with meaningful reflections on marriage, parenting, growing older, faith, and the everyday moments that connect people.

Lee performs for churches, banquets, retreats, senior adult groups, civic organizations, corporate events, and community gatherings. Whether delivering a keynote speech or an evening of Southern storytelling, his goal is simple: make people laugh, encourage their hearts, and remind them that life’s best stories are usually the ones we never saw coming.

Additional booking notes

Whenever possible, I appreciate the opportunity to video portions of my presentation for future promotional and marketing purposes. If venue or event policies require attendees to be notified that photography or video recording may occur, I respectfully ask that those notifications be handled by the client or event organizer prior to the event.

To help protect the integrity of my material and future projects, audience video recording of performances is not permitted. Still photography is welcome unless otherwise discussed in advance.

I strive to be flexible and easy to work with and will gladly coordinate with event staff to help ensure a smooth and successful program for your audience.

Influences and inspiration

My style is heavily influenced by classic Southern storytellers such as Lewis Grizzard, Jerry Clower, and Jeanne Robertson.

Setup requirements

For the best audience experience, I prefer to use a handheld wireless microphone through a quality PA system provided by the client or venue. I request a simple stage setup that includes a stool or small table and two bottles of room-temperature water. N
