Gig Length: 45 - 180 minutes
The South Pasadena Transit Authority can do over two full hours of classic Chicago tunes, concentrating on the first six albums as well as some of the later power ballad hits of the band. They also have another ninety minutes of classic rock, soul and R & B if you want Chicago plus more. We're mainly just nine people that want to have a good time and take you there with us,
South Pasadena Transit Authority came about by a chance encounter with Stuart Blatt & Tim Hillman in the parking lot of South Pasadena Music Center and Conservatory one night back in 2008. As luck would have it, they shared their passion for the band, "Chicago", discussed the possibility of forming a band and then, of course, thought nothing more of it.
Later that year, Tim joined an adult concert band with other former high school band geeks and the light bulb went off. Here was the horn section!
So, on a fateful day in November of 2008, nine people got together and squeaked and squawked out some Chicago tunes and the band was born. The rest, as they say, is history. They’re still nine members and we should mention, they sound pretty darned good, too!
The South Pasadena Transit Authority is:
Ellen Totleben – Lead Vocals
Nadia Hillman – Vocals & Percussion
Stuart Blatt – Drums & Vocals
Timothy Hillman – Lead Vocals, Keyboards & Guitar
David Ford – Bass Guitar & Vocals
Stephen Sturm – Acoustic & Electric Guitar & Vocals
Scott Barton – Trombon & Vocals
Hal Kyle– Trumpet,, Flugelhorn, Guitar & Vocals

One important thing to note: We are nine working professionals who do this for pleasure. Because there are nine of us with weekday commitments, we're only available on Saturdays & Sundays. We tell you this up front because we don't want to waste your time and disappoint you.
SPTA needs 16 - 17 inputs to properly cover the bands sound. We have our own three way sound system that can cover an indoor or outdoor show up to 200 people, however we charge extra if we have to bring more than just a back line.
Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Sam & Dave, The Blues Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin
