I am a lifetime musician and a classical guitarist. I enjoy playing arrangements of the classical and Spanish guitar repertoire, including compositions by Albeniz, Bach, Domeniconi, Granados, Falla, Sor, Schubert, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Vivaldi, Andrew York, and many others. Before moving to Alabama, I performed as part of a guitar duo at various venues in Virginia. I am currently performing as a solo guitarist, as well as part of a guitar-flute duo.
I will need a chair (with no arms) provided, some space for my music stand and amp, and sufficient lighting so I can see the sheet music. An electrical outlet is also required unless the venue is small enough that an amp is not necessary (classical guitar does not have a big sound).
My set list includes many well-known songs from the classical and Spanish guitar music repertoire. While the set list naturally evolves over time, as new songs are added, my typical set list would look like the following:
Composer: Song
-Tarrega: Lagrima, Recuerdos de la Alhambra
-Albeniz: Asturias
- Granados: Danza Espanola No. 2 (Oriental)
- Bach: Minuet I and II, Prelude (from Suite in D Major BWV 1007); Bouree; and others
- Vivaldi: Concerto for Mandolin and Strings (Allegro, Largo, Allegro)
- Yocoh: Sakura
- Domeniconi: Variations on an Anatolian Folk Song
- Sagreras: Arabian Fantasy
- Lllobet (Arr.): El testament D'Amelia and others
- Many songs from F. Sor, M. Giuliani, M. Carcassi, B. Calatayud, Villa-Lobos
- Renaissance Suite: Nonesuch, Greensleeves, Guardame Las Vacas, and others
- Spanish music: Vals Espanol, Malaguena, and others
- Wedding specials: Canon in D, Ava Maria, Jesu the Joy of Man's Desiring, and others
