Kentrell Martin is an award-winning children’s book author, educator, and speaker best known for creating interactive literacy experiences that bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing communities through American Sign Language (ASL).
He is the creator of the Shelly’s Adventures book series, a collection of children’s books designed to promote inclusion, empathy, and communication. What sets Kentrell apart is how he brings his stories to life. During his live readings and presentations, students don’t just listen—they actively participate, learning 60–90 ASL signs in as little as 30–45 minutes through movement, repetition, and play.
Kentrell has visited schools, libraries, and community events across the country, reaching tens of thousands of students. His presentations are high-energy, interactive, and intentionally accessible for all learners.
