Steve Cropper once said "this guy Shake is like an Otis Redding/Wilson Pickett type singer with Van Morrison or Bob Dylan type songs.
A night of music with Shake is a sweat soaked, emotionally draining, power house event.
You will be touched in every way possible. ( Courier Journal writer Bob Bahr)
I thought he was just a great blues artist, boy was I wrong!
This guy runs the gammit of musical endeavor and it is absolutely seamless.
( Fonda Brass, Rollin Stone magazine).
“OMG!!!!!!!!!! Guitarist/ Vocalist Shake Anderson is Seriously Funky, ........... !......!.......! omg. ”
- Bass Musician Magazine (Jan 07, 2009)
“Absolutely remarkable! Wow... Shake Anderson and company have dropped some seriously cool vibes on us and we've already gone through all their tracks like 3 times at least. Shake has an absolutely mellow vocal vibe that simply pulls you into an intense state of musical arousal that can't be denied. Cooler than ice baby! We don't hand out many 5's for our music reviews but Shake Anderson is probably up in the 10+ range. We feel absolutely honored and blessed to have been offered the opportunity to listen to, let alone review, music as finely written and produced as that provided by Shake Anderson and Company. Shake says—“once you've been to the edge the middle don't matter." We couldn't agree more... Have no fear Shake, you are definitely far from the middle and we appreciate the beauty in the music you've given to the world. Those of you who love great music in it's finest form be sure to cop this Cats album. You will NOT be disappointed. ”

Shake, whose real name is Sammy Louis Anderson, learned the most about life when an illness stopped him in his tracks. He was told he would never perform again and had several months to live. Life as he had known it was over. While spending more than nine months in the hospital and being told he was dying he learned who he really was—not Shake as the world called him—but Sammy Louis as his doctor's referred to him. This crisis in his life taught him what was really important. Shake overcame all the odds and rebuilt his life. These songs—chapters—are stories about making mistakes, learning lessons and rebirth. Shake says about Stories from Sammy Louis—“once you've been to the edge the middle don't matter.”
