A seasoned band leader that can entertain as well as minister to the heart. The music format ranges from Bluegrass to Country & Swiss yodeling. The music will be tailored to the event. In church services we will do all gospel. In concert settings we do secular as well as gospel music, but always family friendly.
The Schmidts & First Love have been working together as a husband & wife team singing in churches, concert halls, fairs and town festivals for over 20 years. Singers and pickers have come and gone but it all began with a love for music and the Giver of Music and that love just grows stronger.
The Schmidts feature strong family harmonies and a mountain country flavor in the styling of the Osborne Brothers, Doyle Lawson, Carter Family or Louvin Brothers. Also included in each appearance is fiddling and yodeling. You will find their music on Pandora radio under the Schmidts and First Love.
The group consists of Stephen Schmidt - Lead and Harmony Vocals, guitar, fiddle and dobro; Rosetta Schmidt - Lead and Harmony Vocals and mandolin; Sarah Elizabeth Schmidt - Lead and Harmony Vocals, keyboard and guitar; Stephen Emanuel Schmidt - Harmony Vocals, bass
We require a minimum of 3 vocal mics and 4 instrument mics. In some events where a sound system is not present, we will bring our own sound system complete with sound man.
Songs will be selected from 10 of our current albums we've recorded.
Songs will be selected to best fit the occasion.
