Michael Ballard, (known as Michael B) - Saxes, Vocals
Michael B started playing the alto sax as a 3rd grader in Washington, DC, but never joined the school bands, nor has he ever taken a private lesson. He learned to read music from church hymnals, and his ear training comes from playing along with television themes. In High School, joining the DC Youth Orchestra Wind Ensemble sharpened his reading skills. He moved to The Villages, Florida in 2015 from Minneapolis, MN. After first visiting The Villages in 2010, Michael B decided THIS was the place to retire and start enjoying his passions. He is quoted in saying “It wasn’t the golf that brought me here; it was primarily about the music, various clubs, and the awesome weather.”
Michael’s career as an electrical engineer kept him on the road, so for four years, his sax hung on the wall above the fireplace. He pulled it down to play for a Sunday School class, and never put it back. When Covid shut down music on the squares in The Villages, Michael B purchased a system and performed driveway concerts for his neighbors in Tamarind Grove. He later joined the Blues Generators, Groove 41, and currently performs on his own with the bands Mojo, The Del-Phi’s, and Savage Soul.
Peter Dubner - Keyboards

After a long musical hiatus his corporate career, Peter reconnected with his musical roots and attended an innovative music program founded by Grammy Award winner David Darling. Peter joined The Savage Soul Band in 2025 and currently performs with various jazz, rock/pop, new age and blues bands. Peter is a composer and songwriter and is currently arranging and recording his own original songs.
