About
The Pilgrims of Deep Run are a Baltimore-based Irish trad group dedicated to bringing the spirit
of the Irish pub to audiences across the Mid-Atlantic. Combining high-energy performances with
rich musical traditions, the band offers an immersive experience where audiences laugh, sing,
and raise a glass together. Inspired by legendary acts such as The Irish Rovers, The New
Barleycorn, The Dubliners, and other folk greats, The Pilgrims of Deep Run create a vibrant,
engaging atmosphere.
Formed as the 2020 quarantine was beginning to lift, the band came together through a shared
passion for traditional Irish music and storytelling and a need for human connection. Each
member brings a deep love for the tradition and a diverse musical background, resulting in
performances that are as dynamic as they are engaging. Featuring a multi-instrumental lineup,
members seamlessly switch between voice, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, bodhrán,
bouzouki, and Irish whistle, keeping their arrangements fresh while honoring the roots of the
music. Their performances aren’t just about the music—they create a shared experience,
where audiences are encouraged to join in through call-and-response choruses and
foot-stomping rhythms.
With a reputation for electrifying live shows, The Pilgrims of Deep Run have become a staple at
renowned festivals, breweries, pubs, and cultural events. Their monthly residency at
Black Locust Hops Farm Brewery (December 2022-October 2025) built a loyal following, while
performances at the Virginia and Maryland Renaissance Festivals showcase their ability to
entertain diverse crowds. Other notable performances include the Mainstreet Martinsburg,
Guinness Open Gate Brewery's Arts and Drafts Fest, and numerous St. Patrick’s Day
celebrations at venues such as An Poitín Stil, The Limerick Pub, The New Deal Café, and
Coakley’s Pub to name a few.
The band’s authenticity, versatility, and infectious energy make them a perfect fit for any
event—whether it’s a lively pub night, a wedding, a private celebration, or a festival stage. With
a packed schedule of upcoming performances in 2026, The Pilgrims of Deep Run continue to
share their love for Irish music with audiences old and new.
