Excelliant pianist and very Professional!

We enjoyed having Laura as part of our special day. Laura arrived early and brought everything she needed to get set up for the ceremony/reception. It made our busy day a little easier knowing we didn't have to worry about the music side of things. In addition to that, Laura is an excellent pianist and learned new songs we requested for the event. HIghly recommend!

Hired as: Keyboard Player, Pianist

Beautiful music; wonderful communication

Laura Goehner Moreno has played for our company Christmas party for the last two years. We were seeking someone who would play traditional Christmas pieces and short classical masterworks. Laura provided that service seamlessly - she communicated well, showed up on time, was easy to work with, and played beautifully. It was a great experience!

What to expect

What to expect?

I am prompt, responsible and dependable. I am well prepared for any gigs I do. I put a lot of thought into my piece selections, catering to the requests of my clients, the type of event, and the venue. I am flexible and can work with my clients in choosing pieces. I will do my best to accommodate special song requests, if I receive them days before the gig. Also, if my client prefers more classical or more pop, etc., a special balance of styles, I am willing to work with them on that. For weddings, I will work with the bride and groom for customized piece selections.

As far as dress, I wear black slacks and a dressy black blouse with black shoes.

About

Biography
I am Laura Goehner Moreno, originally from Atchison, Kansas. I began piano lessons when I was 6 years old and always knew that piano would be my career. I went on to receive a bachelor's and master's degrees in Piano Performance from the University of Kansas and continued post-graduate studies at the National Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland. I studied with Dr. Richard Reber and Dr. Jack Winerock at the University of Kansas and with the famed pianist Claude Frank for seven years in master classes. My later studies were with the renowned pianist Sequeira Costa, with whom I studied for five years. Following my studies, my husband (Enrique Moreno, composer and pianist) and I moved to Stanford, then Palo Alto, California, where we lived for 24 years. I have performed numerous piano concerts in the US and Mexico and have recorded a CD of classical Mexican piano music and another CD of my own compositions in the jazz/classical style. I perform as both soloist and ensemble pianist. I have played solo piano gigs for 35+ years for weddings, private parties, corporate events, etc. My piano teaching experience encompasses 35 years. I taught piano and formed a piano trio in the San Francisco Bay area ((phone number hidden)3). In 2013, my husband and I, and our three kids, relocated to Atchison, Kansas, where I serve as Piano Collaborator and Adjunct Piano Professor at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, and maintain my own private piano studio, the Laura Goehner Moreno Piano Studio.

Additional booking notes

I love to play on an acoustic piano. However, many clients do not have a piano, so in that case, I bring my own high-quality keyboard. I have a Kawaii MP11se. It is a top-of-the-line keyboard. I also bring 2 speakers (QSC K.2 series) that are very high quality and sufficient for indoor and outdoor spaces and large rooms. I bring all my own equipment. I only need two separate wall sockets.

Set list

I play a combination of pop, jazz and classical pieces. I have selected very popular pieces from each style.
