What to expect

As a transformational speaker, I bring no gimmicks or side shows. However, what I do bring is my signature talk; Critical Heart-Centered Play for Adults. This can be a 30, 45, 60 or 90 minute talk.

The talk is about "Play' the first major element in a larger program called the Power Play ReConnect Blueprint. The purpose of the program is to help people reconnect to their unique and original creative self.

Every adult new in childhood exactly who they were and who they wanted to become. Play was often an outlet to develop that desire. Overtime and circumstance that unique and original creative person was overlayed by other peoples desires and opinoins.

As the talk title implies its' purpose is to begin helping adults to bringing play into their lives as a critical component for well-being. This is 'play' not as in golf, or card games - not even tennis. This is about the play that they abandoned as they grew older and more respectable and more responsible. This is play as in mud pies, imagination and a good old snowball fight!

The talk is content rich with immediately useful applications. It will leave your audience ready to see life and play with a renewed sparkle in their eyes and hope in their hearts to transform their lives by restoring their unique and creative Self.

About

Ruth Carol Haskins is a transformational speaker re-connecting people to their authentic selves. She spent her younger years training as a professional dancer at the New York Academy of Ballet and Dance Arts under Director Florence Lessing, with such teachers as Alvin Ailey and Arthur Mitchell. Her summers were spent at the National Ballet of Canada Summer School, Toronto Canada. In her junior year of high school she was awarded the Lincoln Center Award in the Performing Arts for an outstanding High School Student.

Her adult life saw her fulfill a childhood desire in radio and television broadcasting. In radio, in Chicago at WEFM and WBMX Oak Park Chicago, she was an on air personality in news and public affairs. In later years she arrived in Baltimore, Maryland where she worked in the Fox45 Clubhouse as a writer and producer and later as the Public Affairs Assistant where she continued her writing, directing and producing skills as well as the female voice over for public service announcements. In the capacity of Public Affairs Assistant she contributed to Emmy Award Winning projects using both her research and documentary talents.

In more recent times, Ruth has three times completed the annual fall challenge of National Novel Writing Month and will be a published author very soon.

Creativity and Creative U-Turns (Julia Cameron) are written into her life. Understanding how vital creativity is to the individual human experience compels her to help people to re-connect with their unique and original self. She wants as many as possible to re-connect as she has to what she calls her “RKO Moment in Time.”

So, in short, she is a soap maker, a writer, a transformational speaker and a voice actor. Today, she brings to the table her work as a transformational speaker where she endeavors to re-connect people to their unique and original self.
