The Nightbird Band

To hire The Nightbird Band is to transport you and your guests back in time into the Jazz Age where the gals wore furs, pearls and fabulous hats and the men bow ties and suspenders. We will bring your ears and minds into another century, and inspire your feet to tap and shoulders to shimmy!

We are a professional, Toronto-based Jazz band that plays the music of the 1920's-40's. If hired for an event, the band will typically arrive one hour before our play time to set up our equipment and perform a sound check in the room we will be performing in. We are available for hire for 1-3 hours of live music. Each set is typically 45 minutes in length, and we will take breaks of 15-20 minutes between sets.

Kalya Ramu is an accomplished Classic Jazz vocalist and band leader of The Nightbird band. This event band specializes in Jazz and Swing music from the 1920's-40's. If you need a little vintage flavour at your event, look no further than The Nightbird Band, who will effortlessly transport you back to simpler times, when Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee & Billie Holiday ruled charts and stole hearts. If you do not have a PA system available for us at your event venue please let us know and we will provide our own sound setup. We will need sufficient room for whatever size band you want to hire and an extension chord and nearby electrical outlet to plug into.
