Overview

The New Waves began as an idea to literally “sell nostalgia” after a weekend binge watching John Hughes films, those classic 80's Brat Pack movies whose soundtracks helped shape the pop culture of GenX. Drenched in synthesizers, guitars, and Saxophone, the New Wave sound was a perfect mix of alternative rock and punk music. Now, The New Waves are here to remind you all of better days past that introduced us all to MTV, Rubik's Cubes, and arcades! Stay RAD!

What to expect

"Having The New Waves perform at Rockin' Rogersville was an absolute highlight of the evening! Their high-energy performance and authentic sound brought the crowd to their feet. The band's ability to capture the true essence of the era made for an unforgettable experience, and their enthusiasm was contagious!" - Community Foundation of Rogersville

"The New Waves are an incredible mix of great music and fun! They play the part. They are true entertainers and much more than just another band. They have done a great job for me at my venue. Working with The New Waves is a delight. They work with us to put on the best show possible. Highly recommend!" - Mark - Owner/Ernie Biggs Springfield

"The New Waves delivered an unforgettable performance at Wingapalooza, channeling the rebellious spirit of Gen X with their unique blend of alternative rock and punk. Their sound was a perfect match for the event's vibe and atmosphere, and their setlist carried echoes of the pop culture that defined an entire era. With gritty vocals, driving rhythms, and guitar riffs amplified by the bold addition of saxophone and synthesizers, The New Waves created a layered, dynamic sound, that transported the crowd while keeping the energy fresh and exciting. The band's magnetic stage presence and infectious enthusiasm had the audience rocking along with every beat, proving their ability to captivate across generations!" - Zen Lens Photomedia

"We asked The New Waves to perform the evening of our grand opening celebration of 14 Mill Market in 2023. Something that is unique to The New Waves that I’ve come to appreciate having worked with many musicians at our venue, is the impressive communication initiated by them well ahead of the event. They are dedicated to being prepared and clear on all of the details that we wanted to make our event special. To date, I have never experienced a group so connected to their audience, making it so memorable for everyone in attendance! For our second year anniversary, there was no one else we wanted to invite back but them!" - Leah - Owner/14 Mill Market

"The New Waves Band were awesome! We stayed until the very last song!" was a constant theme in the unsolicited feedback from the weekend. Thanks for two nights of tubular shows!" - Courtney - Marketing Manager / The Encore Lakeside Grill & Sky Bar
