Overview
The Mood Swings is a jazz combo that plays concerts, private events and at bars/restaurants. We typically play with a drummer, guitarist, and singer/saxophonist. We have competed and placed highly at SoCal jazz festivals and have been playing together for several years. The Mood Swings were fantastic and extremely professional. They played for an outdoor party where guests were eating and talking inside and outside in the backyard. The music was never too loud to have a conversation. They took requests and switched up the instrumentation for some pieces. And the band leader’s voice was amazing! I highly recommend this group!

What to expect
We typically play background music for events. Most of our setlist is swing jazz, but we can learn songs upon request.
About
We met each other through Jazz Band and formed our own combo outside of the big band. We've competed against other SoCal jazz combos, done workshops and have travelled several hours outside of our hometown to play gigs. We play with 2-5 people depending on the client's preference. Our rates depend mainly on number of band members, playing time and the distance to the gig. We rehearse regularly and are constantly adding more pieces to our repertoire. On average, we play gigs every other week.
Additional booking notes
We can bring our own amps and speakers, but for an extra-large venue, we will need a pre-set amplification system.
