The Mismatch

The Mismatch plays funky Americana with a bluegrass twist. We have about 1 1/2 hours of original material and can fill the rest of the time with covers. Our covers draw from such artists such as the Beatles, The Black Keys, Bob Wills, and Johnny Cash. We do songs and instrumentals. We can take a few requests for covers. We can write original material for your event for an extra fee.

Our instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, drums, and electric bass. WE can cut down the instrumentation to fit your budget. Groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 are options although trios, quartets and the full six piece group are the most common instrumentations that we perform. If you are interested in have just a few of us for a wedding ceremony and the full band for the party we can arrange that.

We have our own sound system that uses two mid-sized main speakers and two monitor speakers so that we can hear ourselves. We can control the volume very well. We regularly play three hour sets at such venues as The Salt Lick, The Phoenix, and Tavern in the Gruene. If you live in the Austin Texas area we can see about getting you a preview of the band at one of our public concerts.
