May 4, 2016We hired the Metro Swing Band to play for our annual High School Formal Ball and they were FANTASTIC. They are a very talented group of singers and muscians that keep the room moving and entertained. They interact with the attendees and make them feel right at home and keep a smile on your face the whole time. You can enjoy different syles of music for dinner and dancing! This is our third year booking this band and we hope to continue to have them be apart of our event for years to come! Thank you all!

June 18, 2013We first caught the Metro Swing Band at JB's Lounge in the Clarion Hotel Sacramento where they play the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The band was a lot of fun with a variety of music that was great for dancing. We especially liked both vocalists, who had great personalities onstage to match their voices. If you like Big Band Swing, you'll LOVE the Metro Swing Band!

Metro Swing is a premiere Sacramento area big band with a diverse repertoire spanning seven decades. Listen and dance to a variety of musical styles from Big Band Swing to Jazz, Blues and various Latin rhythms.
Metro Swing creates entertaining shows featuring frontman and talented vocalist, Stan Read, also known as "The Cat in the Red Hat" along with Kathryn Skinner, who joined the band in 2024 and is widely recognized as one of the best female jazz vocalists in the area!
This exciting 16-piece big band is available for wedding receptions, dance clubs, anniversaries, birthday parties, holiday events, concerts in the park, as well as private and community events throughout the greater Sacramento area and Northern California.
We have a sound system suitable for a big band and can include providing it in our pricing.
Our big band is 15 pieces, so there needs to be enough stage room for us to fit and accessible power outlets.
