This husband/wife team bring all the of the energy of a big stage show to even the smallest of venues, and engage their audiences to make sure they are having as much fun as the two of them are. Strong vocals and a chemistry of two guitars that somehow came together to create the perfect mix. This is called Synergy. The interaction of parts or elements that when combined produce a total effect greater than the sum of the individual elements. In other words it's kinda magical. September 5, 2021We booked the McGuires for our 50th wedding anniversary in June. They were the perfect choice for our event! They were absolutely amazing and all of our guests raved about them! They have a musical style that encompasses a wide repertoire of types of music. Their voices blend snd harmonize beautifully and they make sure all the guests are enjoying themselves. They were totally awesome and performed in a way that was engaging and meaningful but not at all intrusive to guests who were chatting nearby. We will definitely try to book them for future events and highly recommend them! Thank you, to the McGuires, for creating a memorable evening for us! ❤️

January 16, 2017Meguiars are absolutely the best duo couple for any venue. They keep the crowd entertained, and involve them through the entire events. I would recommend the for any type of get together with family and friends or a larger events such as a reunion or wedding. Good people and great entertainment!!!

January 13, 2016The McGuires performed for us twice last year, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. After all, it isn’t often that you conclude an event and hug your musicians not once, not twice, but five times!
Max and Barbara are each talented in their own right, and together they are over the top in terms of performance and professionalism. Max’s mad guitar skills and Barbara’s pure vocals were made for entertaining. We hosted a variety of ages in our crowd and we heard nothing but compliments on the music. For our events (a 20th anniversary celebration for the winery in September and a NYE dinner event), The McGuires expertly “read” the crowd: being soft and soothing when needed, ramping it up to get the party going; playing to and playfully interacting with the audience, with an eye to the business going on around them.
I can’t say enough about them or how pleased I was with myself to have found them. They are no longer just “hired musicians” – I count them as friends.

January 9, 2016Barbara and Max McGuire are not only top-notch musicians and entertainers, they are wonderful people, as well! They have played our venue multiple times, and have volunteered their talents in local charity events out of kindness. They have made fans of the customers who frequent our little Franklin bar, and we look at them as friends, too. Always upbeat and professional in demeanor, and extremely talented, I would not hesitate to recommend the McGuires for any event or venue!

Where They’ve Been: Max and Barbara McGuire’s adventure performing together began early in Barbara’s music career in her home state of California when she placed an ad in a local newspaper looking for a guitar player for her band. Indiana born and bred and a new resident of the West Coast, Max answered the ad. Little did Barbara know she would also find a husband and Max would find his bride! This union also created a marriage of musical styles...Max’s roots are in blues and southern rock, Barbara’s in country, folk, and classic rock. With their California band Sierrah, they opened shows for Brooks & Dunn, Patty Loveless, John Anderson and even opened a show for the late legendary comic George Carlin. Their popularity earned Sierrah a nomination for non-touring Band of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, and that same year the Academy nominated Max for Instrumentalist of the Year. Barbara received special statewide recognition from the California Country Music Association being named Female Vocalist of the Year.
