The Local Boys
Overview
The legacy of bluegrass music lives on in many styles, but the musicians defining themselves in tradition uphold the stories and techniques of yesterday’s music. For more than two decades, one band doing that has been The Local Boys, a Bluegrass and Americana band based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Local Boys love music that has grown and evolved over decades—old-time, bluegrass, country, and rock ’n’ roll.
They've performed across the country at iconic events such as Merlefest, Brushy Mountain Apple Festival, Louisiana Spring Fest, Mountain Music Day Festival, Heritage and Harvest Festival, Hot Rod Power Tour, and more.

September 19, 2017Wonderful show
The Local Boys were great! They kept folks entertained with great bluegrass music, both the folks sitting in the amphitheater and the visitors milling around at our other vendors. Would definitely recommend them at festivals and other events.

July 15, 2017The Local Boys presented exciting musical entertainment!
The Local Boys performed for our Summer on the Square event to be held on the county courthouse lawn. Due to a steamy stormy evening, we moved the event to our rainsite, The Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex. The Local Boys were flexible, efficient in setup, and ready for performance in spite of a change of original location. The Band engaged with the audience and presented a variety of vocal and instrumentals that appealed to all ages. Our audience was children through senior adult that visibly enjoyed the talent and excitement brought to our stage by The Local Boys! Thank you!

July 2, 2017Great band, highly recommend!
We hired The Local Boys to play at our backyard reception/4th of July party and we were thrilled with their performance. They provided great atmosphere and played a range of songs, including several well-known contemporary songs with a bluegrass/Americana twist. Many of our guests commented on how good they were. I would highly recommend The Local Boys for any event!
