The January Lanterns

The January Lanterns is a Chicago-based indie-folk duo made up of husband-and-wife team Andrew and Kristen Camp. Their sound is equal parts intimate and sing-along, with bittersweet harmonies, honest lyrics, and a vibe that feels like sitting close with someone who really gets you. It’s raw, heartfelt Americana/folk songwriting and perfect for couples, birthdays, parties, and events that want something meaningful and memorable.

They bring a few flexible options to the table, depending on the energy of your day: a cover band for crowd-pleasing favorites, plus acoustic band and folk band setups that lean cozy and authentic. Whether they’re playing stripped-back acoustic sets or turning up the folk-rock warmth, The January Lanterns know how to read the room and keep the music moving.

Known for emotionally rich storytelling, The January Lanterns have shared their music with wider audiences too. Their second album, That’s What We’ll Be (2025) follows their debut LP, For The Kids, When They’re Older (2022), and their latest moments in the spotlight include “Take A Breather” featuring on ABC’s crime/drama series, R.J. Decker, and their single “Fade” winning the Grand Prize in the 2025 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

For events they’re all about creating a glowing, feel-good backdrop for real celebrations of love, milestones, goodbyes, and everything in between. With two voices, one shared story, and a little extra light in the room, The January Lanterns help turn your event into something people actually remember.

We provide our own sound system!

We can also provide 2 sound systems in 2 different locations for easy transitions - great for weddings with Ceremony and Cocktail Hour options!

*Will need to be set up in a clean/dry location. If there is rain in the forecast on the day of your event we can work with you to find a safe spot for our equipment or you can have us bring our tent for a $100 fee.

We have the right to apply these Terms and Conditions once booking is confirmed:

1. Deposit and Payment. The Client shall make a deposit to retain the Musicians to perform the services specified. When this order is completed, the deposit shall be applied to reduce the total cost and the client shall pay the balance due. Payment is paid automatically through Gigsalad platform once customer receives service.

2. Cancellation. If the Client shall cancel this agreement, we have the right to at keep the deposit payment (not full payment).

3. Failure to Perform. If the Musicians cannot perform this agreement due to a fire, casualty, act of God, or other extreme cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to the Musicians severe illness, then the Musicians shall have the right to cancel performance and shall have no further liability with respect to the agreement.

5. Creative Aspects. The style and arrangement of chosen songs is at the discretion of The January Lanterns.

6. Weather Provisions. For outdoor weddings, The January Lanterns require flat and dry surfaces to perform on. In the case of inclement weather, clients must provide adequate shelter for the musicians, instruments, and sound equipment. If this condition cannot be met, The January Lanterns have the right to break the agreement.

7. Deadlines. All music selections must be chosen thirty days or more before the wedding date. If music is selected thirty days or less before the wedding date, The January Lanterns has the right to apply a $100 late fee.
