The Hollywood Rhythm Kings are very experienced, professional musicians. As soon as you hear our samples, the difference is immediate. You will hear the same top-level performance at your special event. In 2013 we were chosen by The National Endowment For The Arts to play play music from "The Gatsby Era" at a series of venues across Southern California. Based as the classic rhythm section of piano, bass and drums, we can also add guitars, saxophones, horns and more, depending on your needs. We play Jazz- from background to danceable, from Dixieland to Miles Davis, 20's, 30's, 40's Era Swing to Smooth Jazz into today, along with Pop, Classic Rock and Blues. We love what we do! So will you!
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings were truly a joy to work with. They arrived early, were absolute gentlemen, and BOY can they play! They were also very reasonably priced (but I shouldn't say that too loud lest they get savvy and raise them ;) 10/10 I would recommend!
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings were absolutely the best! They were exactly what we needed to make our client open house festive and fun! Everyone from 4 to 94 appreciated the music and we even had a guest break out in spontaneous dancing to the delight of all! I highly recommend them and look forward to the next opportunity to enjoy their talents!
Hollywood Rhythm Kings were more than awesome, if I could give them 10 stars I would. I planned my father-in-law's 70th birthday party and I had a set schedule, but in a party everything is relative and never goes as planned, but the Hollywood Rhythm Kings rolled and flowed with the "punches" as the evening went on. The trio were very generous with the many interruptions and requests of our guests. So I thank them tremendously, they were great. And compared to other groups out there, they really seemed to enjoy doing what they are doing and it's more than a "job" for them and that really shines through when they perform! Also another note, they are very reasonably priced for what they offer and can do. Totally would recommend them and I know who I'm hiring again for my mother-in-law's party...Hollywood Rhythm Kings! Thank you for a wonderful evening full of happy memories and music!
Hollywood Rhythm Kings were more than awesome! The trio were very courteous and generous with the many interruptions and requests of myself and our guests. They were a pleasure to work with from the first contact until the end of the night. So I want to send them a huge thank you for everything, they were great. Thank you for a wonderful evening full of happy memories and music! I highly recommend them and look forward to the next opportunity to enjoy their talents!
Response from "The Hollywood Rhythm Kings", Jazz Trio:
I cant begin to say enough great things about the Hollywood Rhythm Kings. From the first contact to the last song, they were easy to work with, timely in their responses, reasonable in their pricing, on time, well dressed, played FABULOUS music, and were overall a pleasure to work with. We had a wedding/dinner party outside and everyone loved their music. I would strongly recommend the Hollywood Rhythm Kings!!!!
Such a pleasure to work with. Kerry and the rest of the guys provided such a fun ambience for the guests--people were dancing and complimented the music all night.
We booked them, and they surpassed our expectation. Amazing group, it was an honor to have them play at my wedding. I was very happy with everything. I truly recommend them.
The trio were very professional and extremely musically and vocally competent. They were able to play the vast majority of the songs we had requested aside from their standard repertoire. We enjoyed immensely the music and the way that they blended in with our ceremony and reception becoming part of the celebration.
We would recommend this trio to anyone having a similar function.
My husband and I had a destination wedding overseas, so we planned a brunch reception here to include stateside family and friends. We knew we wanted live music and a band who could entertain everyone, from 2-99. We found Hollywood Rhythm Kings on the web and read great things about them- each of which couldn't be truer! Our event was great, the music was perfect, and everyone complemented how the volume was such a welcome change than any other party they have been to. Guests said they were able to have conversation over the background music and dance when it was time to dance. My older aunt even said this was the first time she didn't have to wear ear plugs at a party! We made a couple special song requests ahead of time- I sang a song to my husband with the band (without practicing) and it was perfect, and then we had them play "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey and they totally nailed it! Best cover I had ever heard, and I know it is outside their usual jazz. Either way, we highly recommend that you hire HRK at your next event!
These guys and gal were great! I have only good things to say. From communication, to being on time, playing exactly what we requested, to engaging with our audience. Their sound and style were spot on for what we needed and when I needed to add and make changes, they were all over it! Thank you again for contributing to our very successful company event.
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings did a wonderful job at our office party! They were courteous & played some great jazz music. Everyone really enjoyed their performance and I'm so glad they were able to be a part of our festivities.
HRK performed at a large party that my wife threw for her mother's 80th birthday. They were exactly the group for which we were looking, and many of the party's attendees commented on how much they enjoyed the music. We would happily use HRK again for our next event.
Although everyone was expecting a mariachi group as soon as the the music started everyone was pleasantly surprised . The music was warm, soft and very pleasing to the ears. Everyone was very happy. Great times with this jazz trio! The Hollywood Rhythm Kings are now in my phone for future events.
My wife did most of the planning, but one of the few things I was responsible for was booking the band (although she helped with that a little bit too), so it was very important that this one aspect of the wedding go smoothly.
Weddings are pretty hectic, and you expect that a few things that don't go exactly as planned, but the band was spot on. Right from when I first talked with Kerry on the phone, I got a really good impression. He was very professional and accommodating. On the day of the wedding, they were already jamming when I first walked into the the reception. The music sounded great all night long.
Hopefully these guys are still available for our 10 year anniversary.
Kerry and his band were professional, courteous and totally a joy to work with on Our occassion. Their repertoire was extensive and they played beautifully! I highly recommend them!!
"Body in the Bathtub Gin" was a fabulous team building event! We had fund and worked together to determine the "murderer". Have done many, many team building exercises but this was by far the best!!!! Patti and her group were amazing to work with and all the participants were amazed at how seamlessly they incorporated the tidbits of information we supplied prior to the event into the evening fun!
I sat for hours helped my fiance choose a jazz ensemble for our wedding. He had done the preliminary research, finding a good listing type website but hadn't gone any further. It was 8 weeks before the big day, so we needed to get on our game. This band seemed like the right sound at the right price.
My fiance contacted them, and they agreed to play for us in San Diego on 9/28/13. SD was 99 miles away from them. (They'll travel up to 100 miles before requiring a complimentary hotel room to stay the night.)
We emailed them only a week before with our request list, and possibly even later with the first dance and father-daughter dance request. Turned out at the last second, they didn't know the father-daughter dance and pulled up a YouTube version on the fly. Bonus points for making sure a song played at that moment.
They displayed great energy throughout the night, played an extra hour, and were gracious regarding last-second cash payment. We are busy dreaming up excuses to have parties with affordable high-quality live music more often.
The Hollywood Rythym Kings brought magic to our event. Their energy, talent and profesionalism were amazing. During the cocktail party when people wanted to talk they played the smoothest of jazz, then, later in the evening, when people wanted to kick up their heels and dance they went right into the most fun and danceable of tunes. They gave me everything I wanted and more. They really did MAKE the party! Their ability to read a crowd and give just what is needed in the flow of the evening was obvious from the beginnning of the evening until the end. This really is the best group I have ever worked with & will call them every time I need a band.
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings were more than I dreamed of! They were top class, sophisticated, highly talented, super smooth and absolutely the perfect highlight to make the evening magical. Book them now and your event is on its way to a memorable time for all.
We had our Dad's 90th birthday party at my home and we were so pleased with our entertainment from the Hollywood Rhythm Kings!! I found them to be not only talented but also very professional on all levels. They made our special occasion such a wonderful affair!! They asked what we wanted, knew exactly what to do and delivered!! I can't say enough other than hire them..... I promise you that you will be happy that you did!
They were there early to set up. They started playing right on time, they took requests and played from a list we had given them. We loved all the songs. They were polite and courteous. We're definitely getting them again for our future events. Thank you Hollywood Rhythm Kings for making our special day even better.
Great band, they made my Grand Opening amazing! Besides their cool, fresh music, we all loved their personality. Very experienced, they know exactly what they have to do, great great band. I will definitely hire them again.
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings were the perfect addition to our event! They played music that matched the theme to a tee and knew exactly the right vibe we were going for. They were flexible, professional, and all together great to work with! I hope to have them back again!!
This jazz trio made my sister's 60th surprise birthday
bash a smash! They're classy, versatile..responded
to requests for standards, jazz favorites, even
country. I'd recommend them to friends as they were
recommended to me: "These guys are just the best!
Look no further!"
These musicians are just superb. They made my lawn party a huge success. If money is no object they can add more instruments and singers too. They did for me. They can do anything. This trio is elegant without being stuffy, and they knew when to be soft and when to let it rip. I love disco as well as jazz standards and Broadway show tunes. The Hollywood Rhythm Kings nailed it all. They were worth every penny and then some.
This trio was so good I wish I could give a party every week just to hear them. I have used other bands in the past, but none of them matched the sophistication and showmanship of these three. They asked me what I wanted, and they fulfilled every request including a superb vocalist to sing our favorites.
This was an anniversary party, but I will use them for an intimate dinner party too. I am so glad I found them!
I hired the Hollywood Rhythm Kings for a private corporate event and they were excellent. We wanted traditional jazz tunes from Basie, Ellington, Brubeck etc. and they nailed it. Will definitely hire them again. Bravo!
I hired this trio for my wedding. I thought they would be good based on what I saw on-line, but they were so much more. They played so many different styles. I gave them some songs and they added more in the same style. Everyone loved them as there was something for every age group. Just amazing. They were friendly and fun and just so good. I really lucked out. Yippee!
What to Expect
Expect some great Jazz Standards, from quiet brush whisper, to roaring Basie, Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Sinatra style tunes. If client desires, we can tailor more to rock n roll, or pop. The trio can be augmented (depending on client needs) by adding sax, female singers etc.
