Each presentation has a flavor of football with a delightful amount of humor intertwined – keeping young and old entertained and engaged.

Melanie’s straight forward, southern charm draws audiences in and makes them feel “right at home”.

The Football Lady delivers a message that is always full of hope and perseverance. Her desire is to encourage, inspire and challenge each person to live a life of excellence!

After a rewarding, 20 year career in the field of education, God lead her to pursue a new direction. She is finding her career as professional speaker and author to be equally fulfilling.

On the home front, she is married to her best friend of 30 years, Dustin Garrett. They have two wonderful children who are recent graduates from their respective colleges, here in the great state of Texas. Melanie and her husband live in Arlington, Texas, with their menagerie of pets - 3 dogs and 2 cats.

When she’s not writing or speaking, Melanie enjoys throwing Frisbee with Levi, photography, reading, listening to music, going to the movies and of course anything to do with football.

My requests/needs are few and simple:

I will need a table to set up my book display, for those wishing to purchase a signed copy of Under His Helmet. (It will be helpful to me to have someone monitoring the table in my absence/while I'm speaking, please.)

A bottle of water (at room temperature) and a small can of pineapple juice (room temperature, also) will help keep my voice fresh throughout my speaking engagement.
