The Edelweiss Band
Overview
Authentic German sound with our 5 piece Edelweiss Band. We were formed to be the house band for the Edelweiss Restaurant in Fort Worth, but it’s sudden closure left us to wander the alps looking for more places to play popular traditional German music. Our leader, Brian Standridge has produced some truly amazing and authentic arrangements for dozens of famous German tunes with a few surprises thrown in! Waltz’s, Polkas, Marches, Happy birthday concerto, Chicken Dance! And many more songs you won’t hear anywhere else. Brian has performed at the Edelweiss Restaurant hundreds of times since the 90’s, playing with local legend Helga Beckman to become a true expert in all things German music.

Hired these folks to play an outdoor event and things couldn't have gone better. The musical skills of all 5 musicians is beyond compare. They interacted with the audience to get them involved in a few of the most common German songs (Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit, the "chicken dance", and some other song that got everyone up and dancing). Before the gig started, they also asked me of there were any particular songs we wanted to hear. I was so impressed and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

About
Our band was formed in 2023 to replace the long time Saturday night act at the Edelweiss restaurant in west Fort Worth. But it’s sudden closing left us wandering the Alps looking for somewhere else to play! Our band leader Brian Standridge played at the Edelweiss for over 30 years with Helga Beckman. Other band member have music degrees and hold chair positions at local universities. Brian is a talented arranger and has written some really amazing versions of traditional German songs as well as “Germanizing” many popular tunes that everyone will recognize. We have over 100 selections in our book to choose from.
