Overview

The EDTJB is a swingin’ 6-piece group that pays homage to the roots of jazz by bringing New Orleans-Style Jazz music, primarily from the 1920's and 30's era, to life. Playing toe tappin' tunes from the pen of jazz luminaries Louis Armstrong, Clarence Williams and Joe "King" Oliver, this group dazzles and makes it hard for audiences all over to stay in their seats. The East Dallas Traditional Jazz Band has played many venues around the Dallas-Ft Worth area including Revelers Hall, The Sammons Arts Center, The Free Man and NOLA Brassiere. We are available for private parties, corporate events, weddings, memorial services and more.

The perfect addition to our holiday party!

The East Dallas Traditional Jazz Band was amazing at our company's executive holiday party! Their versions of holiday classics, with some other jazz mixed in, was the perfect addition or our holiday party. We will consider using them again for sure.

What to expect

You would expect to see a well prepared and organized band that is very competent in the style of music it is performing. You would also get a very professional and high quality organization that believes in doing the job properly and to the best of it's abilities. We love to entertain and we know that we can do that, if given the opportunity.

About

The East Dallas Traditional Jazz Band was formed in 2019 from a longstanding desire to play traditional jazz. Having grown up in a household with a father who played piano and trombone for one of the local traditional jazz heavies in Tommy Loy, it was only natural that I would gravitate towards this style. Be that as it may, it only took about 25 years before I was able to finally get around to forming my own group with some of Dallas' best professional musicians, some of which are well versed in traditional jazz. We play music from the early 1900s to the 1940s. We keep it easy and fun and we'll do the same for your event.
