Overview

TDES were called "A Pittsburgh Supergroup" by Scott Mervis in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette because its members are some of the most accomplished musicians in the Pittsburgh rock scene. Covers of artists like The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Lukas Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Dusty Springfield, The Replacements and Wilco supplement original songwriting that has been compared to the likes of John Hiatt and Bruce Springsteen. The Americana band features male and female lead vocals backed by screaming guitar solos and a hearty horn section, blending genres seemlessly by marrying folk, blues, country, blue-eyed soul, and roots rock - creating an unforgettable listening experience.

About

The band that Scott Mervis of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette called a "Pittsburgh Supergroup (of sorts)" began when singer/songwriter Matt Aquiline repatriated to Pgh. after two decades living and performing in DC. To help bring his sound home, Aquiline enlisted a group of musicians with long and distinguished histories on the Pittsburgh music scene, which now includes Aquiline on Vocals, Guitar and Mandolin, Tom Hohn (The Cynics, The Frampton Brothers, Rattle Bones) on Drums, Joe Safari on Bass, Bill Maruca (Sandoz, The Pawnbrokers, Billy Price) on Keys and Accordion, Alex Hershey (The Mixus Brothers, Bluebird and The Message) on Lead Guitar, Greg Eggert (The Rumpshakers) on Trumpet, Hannah Veri (INCO FIdO) on Saxophone and the outstanding Vocalist, Heather Catley, who also plays guitar and contributes her own orignals to the band's catalogue. The band released its first EP "Coming Home" in December 2017. The band released "No Excuse Not To Have a Merry Christmas," in 2018, "Snowball Fight on the 4th of July" in July 2019 and "The Time Has Come" in 2020, on which Catley is joined by legendary Pittsburgh vocalist Stevee Wellons (Soulful Femme). The band released its first full LP "Seems I Survived" on October 7, 2022 and the EP "What Will They Say (When I Am Gone)" on August 23, 2024.

The band released the single "Fool" on June 15, 2026.

Stellar songwriting and exceptional musicianship lead to a sound that marries folk, rock, blues, country and a little blue-eyed soul into Roots Rock that is pure Pittsburgh, with skill, authenticity and the kind of depth you develop surviving a few cold Winters.
